well this just sucks. Im not a fan of WWE but my 10 year old son is. we bought tickets 1.5 months ago and he is very excited to go see his favorite "wrestlers" live. WWE and the Nuggets better come up with something because this is just complete bullshit.

MORE ON 9NEWS AT 10 P.M.
DENVER - One side is calling it a "scheduling debacle," but both sides agree you can't play a playoff basketball game and have a live wrestling event at the same time and the same place.

World Wrestling Entertainment is scheduled to have a live broadcast of WWE Monday Night Raw in Denver on Monday, May 25 at the Pepsi Center at 7 p.m.

The problem is that is the same night the Denver Nuggets are set to have their Game 4 matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA Western Conference Finals.

The WWE released a statement on Monday saying their live broadcast is in danger of being cancelled by the Nuggets and say the two sides are "currently at an impasse in resolving a scheduling debacle by the team and the Pepsi Center."

The WWE has held the May 25 date with the Pepsi Center since Aug. 15, 2008.

"Even though the Denver Nuggets had a strong team this year and were projected to make the playoffs, obviously Nuggets and Pepsi Center owner Stan Kroenke did not have enough faith in his own team to hold the May 25 date for a potential playoff game," said WWE Chairman Vince McMaho

I found this brutally funny.

I personally don't care for wrestling, but that really sucks. Sorry Citrix.

Well, the dates of the games aren't set until each round ends, right? They're not going to forgo scheduling any events for the entire duration of the playoffs just in case they have a home game the same night. I don't think it's out of the ordinary for an event to get bumped because of a playoff game.

oh look, nba sucking big donkey balls when it comes to game scheduling. never see that one coming a mile away.

hate to see the lawsuits comeing from this.

They'll just reschedule and honor the original tickets or offer refunds, why would there be lawsuits waggy? This wouldn't be the first time something similar to this happened. 😕

Nope, the dates are set well in advance, only the venues are up in the air. When Denver booked out the arena they knew it was possible for them to be hosting a game that night if they made it that far. The only scenario that would have had them hosting would be them vs Lakers. Any other matchup or if they were out the night would have been clear. They gambled and lost.

According to the news, this has never happened before, where a venue is doublebooked, and neither party can 'move out' ... there's nothing in the Pepsi Center contract that says that one party can be bumped if something happens.

The WWE is live pretty much every monday from a different location, so they can't just reschedule it for another day.

Last i read, they were looking to move it to the Denver Center, but it can only hold 10,000 people compared to 19,000 for Pepsi Center.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Vince McMahon hold the live raw in the Pepsi Center Parking Lot, just to rag on the Nuggets the entire night...

I want to see the Nuggets and Lakers in the parking lot because a judge rules that the WWE's contract is valid and they get the arena instead of the basketball game.

why not play the bball game at mile high? or invesco field w/e they call it now? this is the first time something like this has happened. the nba should just move the game to tuesday and have monday be a rest day. the wwe would more than likely sue for breach of contract.

My guess is there is a part in the contract talking about if such a event would happen and bball would win the place if that happens.

nope... Vince McMahon was just on the local news, talking to one of the anchors, and said there is nothing, and has been nothing, in the contract that would give the Pepsi Center that permission.

Vince stated they were even in talks with Pepsi/Nuggest Management weeks ago about this and Pepsi Center told them they were fine for still having their event on the contracted date.

If this is true, the Pepsi Center is screwed.

Well then that's a different story so who knows.
