wut is the BEST RAM to oc? crucial? micron?

you won't find too much different between the two as long as they are cas 2 then u'd be set. and don't forget mushkins too ! they simply rock.

NO, Crucial is the retail arm of Micron.

You can get micron without getting crucial(for example, corsair w/ micron chips). You can also get many, many different generic PCB's with micron chips.

I've had great luck with Kingmax 128 MB 150Mhz from multiwave. I have three sticks. Works great at cas 2 and is easy to overclock. My mobo is set to 107/35 with 10.5 multiplier. That's 1130 Mhz on a tbird 750. It's rock steable.
However with Crucials 15% off and free 2nd day shipping, Crucial is a little cheaper.

Shoot, I would never normally recommend this, but if you live in washington, there is a place called infotech. www.infotechnow.com...

they get generic ram and sell it for fairly cheap. Every stick I have bought from them will run at 143 2-2-2 with absolute stability.

otherwise, just play it safe and get the corsair or mushkin. Crucial is basically just run of the mill, couple of steps up from generic...

WTF do you want to overclock you memory?

People are selling PC-150 memory now, and thats faster then any sane system can run it.

Look at my sig. that memory runs 140Mhz 2,2,2 with all three banks full. Stable, and fast, only $90 a stick too.
Why risk overclocking your memory, when you can just go out and buy some that is faster, and it's not anymore expensive?

office boy is right again of course.

if you do decide to go with pc133 and overclock it, go with some mushkin from memman or direct from the source. mushkin overclocks better than crucial/micron. in my opinion, go with the pc150.

Trifecta crucial makes top of the line memory. There normal stuff is just that, but they have a better line of cas2 stuff that is awesome for overclocking. Beats the $hit out of memory man infineon..... top of the line. Seen the tests first hand the crucial will go 158 fsb not perfectly stable but will at least boot which is darn good I think🙂

When I got mine it was $113 a stick if my memory serves me correctly. Although I am just a kid as I have been called by someone🙂 That might be the better memory at that price.

I agree with GNY. Crucial makes some awfully good memory. I've bought 6 sticks of their 128 MB CAS 2 RAM (CT16M64S4D7E) and it all runs at 150 FSB at 2-2-2. Might even go higher than that. Can get 128 MB for about $86 if you use the link below. This link will give you an extra 5% off their regular web price. Please follow the directions. Click on this link. Then click on the blue button that says "GO". Then click on "Advanced Search". You can then search by part# and just enter the part# that I listed above.

I'll probably get flamed for this, but I buy the Kingston ValueRam 133. I have mine at CAS2 FSB+PCI (110+36). I will only Buy this because it works good for me, and I've heard that if you mix your memory, this can cause issues.

You can get this memory (128) for about $73.00 delivered starting Tuesday.
