WU Times

So in talking to Wolfsraider last week, I told him I was going to do an evaluation of WU times again 🙂 So here I am, with my logs parsed, and all those nasty non 100% completed WU out of the mix.

Dual 2400MP = 3.64 = 3hr 38.4m
A64 3200+ = 2.01 = 2hr
Celeron 2.6GHz = 6.69 = 6hr 41.4m
Centrino 1.6GHz = 2.10 = 2hr 6m
P4HT 3GHz = 3.11 = 3hr 6.6m
Dual 240 Operton = 2.80 = 2hr 48m
Dual Xeon 2.8GHz = 4.74 = 4hr 44.4m
FX 51 = 1.79 = 1hr 47.4m
P4EE 3.2GHz = 2.45 = 2hr 27m
P4 3.2GHz Laptop = 3.38 = 3hr 22.8m
P4 2.8GHz Prescott = 2.94 = 2hr 56.4m
A64 3400+ = 1.84 = 1hr 50m

All P4's had HT enabled, and 2 processes running, save the Dual Xeon, which has 4 processes running.

That being the case, adjusted WU times for the P4's 🙂 (and the dual CPU systems as well)

Dual 2400MP = 3.64 = 3hr 38.4m = 1hr 49.2m per WU
P4HT 3GHz = 3.11 = 3hr 6.6m = 1hr 44.8m per WU
Dual 240 Operton = 2.80 = 2hr 48m = 1hr 24m per WU
Dual Xeon 2.8GHz = 4.74 = 4hr 44.4m = 1hr 11min per WU
P4EE 3.2GHz = 2.45 = 2hr 27m = 1hr 13.8m per WU (this one confuses me, as that means this box should do 20WU/day, but it doesn't) :|
P4 3.2GHz Laptop = 3.38 = 3hr 22.8m = 1hr 41m per WU
P4 2.8GHz Prescott = 2.94 = 2hr 56.4m = 1hr 28.2m per WU

If I've missed any CPUs you'd like me to test, let me know, and if I have one, I will give results after about a week of averages.

EDIT:
1 more thing to note. Some of these still have 3.08 CLI WU times mixed in, but I don't recall when I started using the 3.03 again, so the numbers might be slightly higher than they should be on all but the P4EE and the Laptop.

EDIT2: Added A64 3400+ times

Thank you so much for the time and effort you put into this,I really appreciate it as I am sure many others do as well.

props to you and thank you

that makes it much easier to see where my money would be best spent,I already have the gaming/program benchmarks done now (thanks to you Ronin) I have a dc comparison as well.

actually with a budget i am looking at P4 2.8GHz E = 2.94 = 2hr 56.4m = 1hr 28.2m per WU

actually:

already have the sound video monitor speakers and case

but trying to get a good overclock and keep it in the 700 range

this comes to $793.00
for cruncher that will be used for gaming and editing as well photoshop/dreamweaver
anybody want to critique it...ordering tommorow if all goes well

pm please : sorry for the thread hijack

thanks MoFunk
appreciate the answer

Looks like a pretty good system. I cannot really speak for the board and the chip since I am an epox and AMD guy.
