Well it could indicate things to come. The x1800xl is still more expensive than the GTX even after a month of being out.

 
Rollo, is there ANYTHING that this card does better over 7800GTX? I'm not asking if the price is worth it or not, I wanna know if it beats the 7800GTX at anything.

I just wanted to add that the hate Rollo would express this time would likely exceed his 9700Pro hate on an exponential level; the 9700Pro actually roxored teh boxorz of NV30. This time the ATI part is teh suxorz. 🙁

cheapest x1800xl goes for $399 shipped
cheapest GTX is $455 shipped

Both. Why do you ask? It's not like either of them is as good as the 9700Pro was. Even the two combined wouldn't equal the 2.5x performace lead that the 9700 had over the 4600 GeForce at its launch.
 
Let's not forget that you can also fry eggs on the X1800s which is simply not possible with the 7800s. Keep that in mind when you scoff at the $700 pricetag.

That's not as bad then, definitely, my mistake

 
CDW has always overcharged for video cards plus they don't even have any specs up there (aside from thinking it's a PCI card). Wait till november 5th and I'm sure we'll see cards at MSRP. I'd rather wait on R580 if I were an ATi fan though, I get a feeling R520 will be very short-lived.
