All I can say is if I was there somebody would have went to jail either me or him, maybe both.

I totally agree that there's no reason to hit a woman unless in self defense. We did not do anything because this was a sensitive issue. Being that I really know her only as a coworker I did not want to her to come back at me for punching her bf's face in. If she's smart enough to realize that she shouldn't be with him anymore then she might appreciate it if I kicked his a$$ but then again I can't be sure.

It's sad that we have to live in a world where you have to think that way, but there is that possibility that she'd resent you, or worse, sue you if you beat him up. Still, he could use a thorough beatdown.

You should have beat his azz and if she thought less of you so be it.

Ethyl alcohol, aka ethanol. Better known as grain alcohol.

I would have gone ballistic on the guy. Seeing a girl hit makes my mind go foggy. I can't even look at it in the theatre without getting a little angry.

... and blames the whole ordeal on herself, too. :disgust:

WHAT IF SHE REALLY DESERVED IT?

Sorry! There is no justified case for a man hitting a woman in the face, EVER.
Try again

This happened in my school cafeteria once. I stepped up and got in the middle and basically told the guy off. Luckily, he didn't try to fight me. Thank God, since he was some big oafish guy.

So we all agree the BF should have been beaten, but there's one unanswered question remaining. Did OP do the GF later?

I did too for a while. Back before college, I was thinking about med school, so I applied to a biochemical company Immucor/Gamma Biologicals for summer and winter work. I ended up working in the testing labs and I also worked in the sterilization area. I always had to clean out equipment covered in blood, albumen,... and put them in the autoclave after cleaning them out. I was told to get Hep shots before working there too. Didn't faze me much at the time, but thinking back on it, it was kind of scary that I didn't get anything. I mean they batch test like the rest of biochem places, but batch testing isn't the most reliable now is it.

so then you must subscribe to my line of thinking.
