I was reading through some reviews at gamespot and noticed Top Spin in the review list. I wasn't so sure this was the same game that was released on the XBox, but sure enough it was. Wow... I couldn't believe it. Me and my cousin had a blast playing it on the XBOX. It was really really fun.. prolly the most fun I had playing a sport game (and I DESPISE sports games).

Anyway.. it was released in Novemeber for Europe and I can't for the life of me find anything about the US release. The website says it was supposedly released in October... yet not even one store carries it. Anyone have any idea on what the deal is with the US release?

EDIT:Nvm, I found it on gogamer.... anywayz, I can't believe that none of the major gaming mags even mentioned this and none of the game outlets carry this game. I'm gonna buy it right now!!! Online play too!!! I hope there are enough people playing online!

Here is a demo if you guys wanna see how it great it is

EDIT 2: GoGamer Link for the game: Its only $27.90 + $1.99 shipping!
I was thinking... if enough people bought this game, we could have an ATOT tennis league :)!

Download now....

I've always been a fan of tennis games, going all the way back to the NES. I've not played Top Spin, so I'm looking forward to playing the demo.

This just in... Wall Painter IV is coming out next month. The latest edition in the wildly popular Wall Painter series, this incarnation promises true to life visuals, an almost limitless color pallet with which to paint your walls, and new Fume-a-sense technology, which allows you to get that all important high from the painting fumes that really pulls you into the game.

Should be about as much fun as a tennis game.

Quit being an ass. Take your thread crapping to OT.

That being said, Top Spin is a blast to play. I just finished playing the demo and I was very impressed. I'll be picking this one up soon.

If you are trying to be funny... you failed miserably.

Just tried out the demo. Wow.. its really fun.. just like I remembered it playing on the xbox.
The textures are sharper than the XBox and it looks amazing. Man, there is nothing like the crunch you get after you hit a well placed smash on the opposite side of the court... hah! This game is a multi-player blast!

BTW, you just can't appreciate this game without a gamepad.

<--- Wonders how it'll run on my laptop :)

I've always like a good tennis game, thanks OP.

The system requirements are relatively low:

Pentium 1.2 GHz, 256MB RAM, 8X CDROM, 64MB DirectX 9.0 compatible video card, DirectX 9.0 compatible sound card

It runs great on my 2600+ XP and 9800 Pro, FYI.

I downloaded the demo. I never have seen Top Spin on X-box before.

Is it supposed to be all 'slow motion' like and stuff?

Naah... its straigh up tennis action!

Its remarkably easy to pick up yet it has plenty of depth. And playing with a friend is just an absolute blast.

Laptop is 1.6 GHz Pentium M with x300 64 MB Mobility and 512 MB DDR2 RAM. My desktop is better than this laptop, but just happened to be using the laptop when I came across this thread.

At least it'll give me some idea of how it might perform :)

How exactly does the second serve work? Do you want to time the hit when the vertical meter is red?

I can get my 2nd serve to work with no problems, but it seems awful weak.

Uhh, i don't get it. I played the demo for topspin on the PC back in August 04, could never figure out what happened to it...did the release date get pushed back a shitload or what? I was looking forward to playing it back then but it never came out. Was supposed to come out in September 04 IIRC.

Yeah... hit it when the meter goes red. For even a better serve, use the risk shot (its much harder though.. you have to let go when the meter is right in the middle... but the serve goes blazingly fast.. you might even manage to hit the other person with the tennis ball)

Top Spin came with my Xbox, and I found it kick-ass for gameplay...my guess is that you've never played it.
