The best is (in retail) when they play "do you know how much I have spent with (insert company) in the last year"

Then comes "I will never shop hear again"

Then next week they are back shopping again

Well. I used it last week and it worked. That was the first time I used "I have been your customer for xx months" and it did the magic for me. My insurance company send the bill to a wrong address and then charged me the service charges, fines, etc., Anyway, I called several times and the biatches said that I have to pay or my insurance will be cancelled. When I request them to connect me to their supervisors, I get their ans machine and then I leave a message. Anyway, I called again last week and used the exact same words "I have been your customer for 14 months and this is what you do to me?" The CSR apologized profusely and cancelled all the charges. :D

In that case, you are more than welcome to bitch about your loyalty and them to show you some respect. Yet, what Raiden is complaining about is people who start off with the attitude of "I am important to your bottom line, worm. Jump when I say Jump." Don't wave your junk around in front of me and expect me to hurry up. Give me a chance to help fix the problem, then if you are not satisfied with my answer or attempt, then start the bitching.

when i was in retail my favorite line to hear was 'I pay your salary!'
beign a customer they think they help to compensate me....so my comeback was always 'well in that case i have been meanign to ask youf ro a damn raise biatch!' of course without the damn and the biatch part:p

hehehe.. the best was when i had a customer tell me "i'm best friends with <insert owner name her> and if you dont help me i'll have your job!"

well.. needless to say i'm still working there ;)

i actually 'called' someone on this once... i emailed the owner... and asked how i should handle this person. Their reply "He's just a regular customer. handle the situation as normal. he is NOT my best friend or even an aquantiance"

I know what you mean.

and I just rolls my eyes and think "and I'm supposed to care because why?"

Often when people start out a convo like that ("I've been a customer for xx years", "I am the biggest salesperson of Po-dunk", "I am the secretary of XX manager") they are trumping up their problem to make you hop to. If they calmly stated their problem and you blew them off, I could see them throwing this in as a "please help me or I may leave". 9 times out of 10 the person who calls in with that attitude is a pompous, name-dropping @ss that feels they have some kinda power over you and that will make you work harder at helping them.

Amen! Someone who understands. Yes, I agree that many of them are just that. Pompous, name dropping a**holes. But there is an exception to every rule. I've seen some who call in and do that, but then are the nicest people to talk to. My only assumption is that they've seen others do this before and think that they must as well. *shrug*

Yes, Help Desk will make you want to pummel people.
