Nope - if they existed they would be top heavy and either poor swimmers or unable to swim. :p

It's not just the horn, women have an unusual affinity for horses as well, also a virility/sexual thing, the unicorn just is a magical penis.

Considering the phrase "Hang like a horse" I doubt the horn is needed on the phallic side of things. I think it is more the whole "Innocence" thing.

Hang like a horse?
How do horses hand, by their tail? They dont really have anything hand-like which could grip.
Or maybe their mouth.

I know there are studies out there (sorry, no links) stating that young women (think 13 or so) are normally attracted to horses. It has something to do with a close connection with a large muscular animal. They talked about the unconditional love of the animal and how the girls must be physically in synch with the animal for riding, etc. I think it boiled down to a symbol of power and the girls being in control, but feeling close to the source of power at the same time.

I really don't know all about that stuff, but I do have to admit horses are beautiful ;).

Edit: Never had too much of "a unicorn thing" myself except I really did like the movie Legend when I was little. Come on...a young Tom Cruise that doesn't really say much and Tim Curry as The Lord of Darkness, can't beat it.

reminds me of the movie dodgeball when Peter walks into that lady's house and it's filled with unicorns.

They want to be swept off their feet and have that thrill. People in general also like the aspect of magic and doing things that seem infeasible. It gives an imagery of enchantment and fun.

Freud would say the horn is a child like phallic symbol and that riding horses simulates sexual intercourse. ;) He may have a minor point there.

Unicorn: White horse-like creature with single spiralled horn, used to contain a very strong source of magic.

Pegasus: Horse with wings. Not necessarily affiliated with any kind of magic.

edit:
Women especially like unicorns because 1. women generally consider horses beautiful and 2. the horn represents a phallic symbol. ;)
:D

Edit: OMG!

This this thread delivers.

I married a girl who appreciated unicorns. But then she's into fantasy in general.

i loved them when i was little... i think it has something to do with fantasy and the "fairy princess" idea.

Vin Diesel once coined the phrase "I could eat a horse!", after he had eaten all the unicorns in existance.
