it's also to let air in the pipes so it will drain quicker.

another winnar!

actually, i think my answer is the correct one, the overflow control is an auxilliary benefit at best.

I disagree, my e-penis is bigger!

you are more than welcome to keep your bigger epenis.

i'd rather just be right. 😉

You know what SUCKS about those holes though?

Try plunging a sink sometime. I HAVE to plug that hole somehow, or it won't do sh!t!

why plunge it? do you not have a plastic p-trap underneath the sink that is easily removed by hand by undoing two plastic nuts and then pulling that off, and cleaning that? that would be easier than plunging a sink, plus then you can really remove all the hair.

Dammit, it's stuck. That is the last time I believe everything I read on here. Time to call a plumber.

Agreed, I've never even heard of anyone plunging a sink before. That's why nobody sells 'sink plungers'

Well, the last house I lived in had crappy plumbing. The sick would NOT drain. I checked and cleaned the "goose neck" pipe. It didn't help. It was deep in the pipes themselves...

I would have, but that's the landlords job. (Lazy, cheap bastard wanted to make ME pay to have it done.)

I moved instead. 😉

theres 2 things that could have caused that, what you described, a deep clog, or poor ventilation of the system.

Pepsi, hair wont go away with just a plunging, sometimes it makes it worse. my sink got cloged with my moms hair from her combing it over the sink, and one day she dropped an earring in it, sure enough, i had to take it apart (well, my dad showed me how, but i did it) talk about a lot of hair.

I still haven't heard of it, and it still seems rather silly. And by rather, I mean very. Nor have I ever seen one in a regular hardware store. Granted, I never looked for one, but still.

i could ask my dad if they make one, but i dont recall anyone ever coming into the store and asking for one, so i dont think they have it, nor have i ever seen it in the warehouse.

my dad works for a plumbing supply wholesaler. those in some spots of ohio might have heard of them, but thats about it.
