I was browsing the web earlier, came across a website spawning popups like made. Starting trying to close the pages with task manager. It starts to get silly then all of a sudden all the windows are gone, but my task manager no longer has a menu on top. It just shows the programs running, but I cant check the processes etc. Any clues on a remedy
 
Well, at the very minimum, you can Ctrl + Page Up/Page Down to scroll through the TABS... as with any windows app. (Ctrl + PgUp/Down) scrolls across tabs.
 
I have rebooted and still when i open task manager, it has no label on my start menu, just an icon, and I cannot see process etc. I canot tab over to those windows the option isnt there
 
Go to a command prompt, type in sfc/scanonce. Reboot. It will check all of your windows critical files and replace any that are damaged.
 
while you are there scan the Documents and Settings folder with your antivirus software. Some of those pop-ups contain a javascript virus that infects your computer through that folder.
