I fail to see why this is a "Seattle" thing, when its being put on by the University of Colorado. http://www.uccs.edu/~wpc/

Because the Seattle school district is paying to send students from high schools to it.

There may be others but this is from a Seattle paper focusing on what the Seattle school district is doing.

Did you bother reading what the University of Colorado has to say about this conference that they are holding? I did not read where the school district is paying for them to go either.

District officials this month are sending students from four high schools to an annual "White Privilege Conference" in Colorado.

I read that as the school district providing all the travel arrangements.

From the link you provided:
WPC Rates: $89/night for 1 to 4 people.
Please call (719) 576-8900 or 1-800-222-TREE
Ask for the White Privilege Conference Rate.

I read it and it look just as bad as detailed in the story.

In core academic subjects, whites and Asians still exceed blacks, Latinos and Native Americans. The disparity is not simply a matter of color: School District data indicate income, English-language proficiency and home stability are also important correlates to achievement.

It has nothing to do with income, language or home stability, it has to do with ambition, motivation, and desire to be successful. If it were the 3 things they mentioned then ALL kids that are any part of the 3 would be bad students, and that is not true. To many minority children see their only way to success is by being the next Snoop Dog or 50 cent or Michael Jordan. There is a failure in parenting in those homes and a failure to communicate with the children that one half of one percent of the youth will go on to be a big star.

btw, I will never move to Seattle unless i can start a conference about Black Privilege and Hispanic Privilege.

Ummm, you just contradicted yourself. Yes, i agree it is about home stability, income, english proficiency, AND motivation. But motivation alone is not going to cut it...

You are right; I agree with you that the University of Colorado is holding a white power convention. I am done reading about your asinine assumptions. Why don't you tell everyone what city is rated the highest for education....

What does it matter what the city is rated in education if it is sending its students to an asinine conference such as this and is teaching children that private property rights are bad?
