<< hahaha. although, the V recomends premium too.. 🙁 >>

What???

The Altima 2.5 doesn't require premium, and the Spec-V is essentially the same engine with a little exhaust tuning. I dont' understand why it would require premium. What's the compression cranked up to?

that would be because Nissan knows that the people who has Spec V's will be trying to prove they are fast cars. One of the biggest ways there people compare is by what type of gass they use. Believe me, i have seen it.

If you guys would read comments on the Sentra forums by owners of the Spec-V, you'd see that some of them dyno quite higher than SCC's example. Also, adding an intake gained approx 10hp to the wheels <which show how restrictive the system is>, but you guys are going to argue about stock numbers so we'll let that go.

Also, many of them run the 1/4mi in low 15s which is pretty damn good, although they do have lower trapspeeds which show's their in-adaquate top-end. I don't know about their 0-60 and quite frankly, don't care about it since it doesn't show their full range of acceleration.

What I do know for a fact is that they get rubber in 2nd and 3rd! 😀 😀

I don't see why the QR25DE would require premium as it has a low compression ratio.

The Spec-V does handle great, read the reviews of people who auto-cross it.

btw, skidpad figures are highly dependent on tires too..

<< with the 3k i saved buying my spec v instead of a matrix, i could buy a GPS unit, and enough mods to make it a lot faster than the matrix, and a trailer for all my capicitance needs. >>

Well, since everyone is smack talking back and forth, I'll get one of these for my car and smoke all your asses;

1zzfe turbo kit

Estimated Performance Specifications:

235 hp / 195 lb.ft. @ 6 psi (flywheel)

236 hp / 202 lb.ft. @ 8 psi (drive wheels)
259 hp / 240 lb.ft. @ 12 psi (drive wheels)

I drive a prizm (corolla clone) 😉

different ECU than the altima.. the V engine is tuned a little differnet and takes better advantage of the higher gas octane. Not really noticeable in daily driving but when trying to go fast, it helps. Supposedly it is also better on the engine, i've read that it will reduce wear on the engine and then also reduce engine knock and a few other thigns
