Halloween is probably my favorite holiday. Yeah we had a lot of kids that were not from our neighborhood show up, but thats cool.. I liked seeing their costumes. And they were all nice and were having a good time.

Later in the night we did have some older kids come by (most of which were not wearing costumes) so I just gave them their candy and made fun of them.. They thought it was as funny as I did.

I would say stuff like:

Ahh What are you supposed to be little boy, a ninja? (because ninjas are stupid lame beggers)
or
How did you get the night off of work for trick or treating?
or
Just what are you dressed up as? (and then wait patiently as they came up with something)

It is all about the fun, you guys get too worked up over sh!t. At the end of the night we still had a pretty full bowl of candy and so the last kid that came to our door got ALL OF IT. (Probably like 5lbs of mixed candy) and she was totally stoked.

I gave candy to everyone equally, even if they weren't kids from my neighborhood and alot of them weren't. The median price of houses in our neighborhood is 500K+ which is middle class around here. We got lots of kids.

Trick or treating might be only intended for suburban children. Rural = not enough houses, Urban = people don't give out candy

For me, I give candy to all the KIDS. Anything high school and up, I have a outdoor cam I can look through. If they're dressed up, its all good, but if they're not, I have "special" candy that I give them with a little note inside saying "dress up next time you greedy candy mongering something something" so I can get at them without having them egg my property or something.

i grew up in a rural area, hell my nearest neighbor was prob 1/4 mile away, so all of us kids in the general area woudl go together and someones mom or dad would drive us around, they all took turns, when were were really little it was just our lil area on the map and we all went all out and such, when we got a lil older they woudl drive us to another part of the "town" so we could go in a different neighborhood, it then progressed to driveing 20+min to the next town, it was all fun, and no one cared where we were from

i currently live ina very urban area, and im white and im the minority here, about 11ty billion people came by looking for candy yesterday

I love how some people are talking about Halloween as though it's some kind of sacred holiday that's being ruined just because some disadvantaged kids from other neighborhoods show up. It's not like these people are running around sacking and looting - they're kids for chrissakes. I realized what I posted sounded bad and needed clarification so I did so TWICE, but that isn't as controversial or as easy to bash so it is not interesting or important. Oh well, it isn't like I really care what anyone around here thinks of me anyway as it doesn't change or affect my life in any way.

I have to go because I need to get to the polls for early voting and I need to cast my vote for Proposition 2 here in Texas which will basically ban gay marriage forever.....I'm sure that will piss a bunch of you off and give you even more to talk about. 😉

We had plenty of children last night.
Some were dressed, some weren't so well customed.
Some were white, some black, some had masks and you couldn't tell.
Some were babies still in their strollers, some were MILF's.
Some were from our area, some were complete strangers.

The wife and I gave ALL of them lot's of candy, smiles, and laughes. We can't wait to do again next year!

I used to give out candy to the kids in the neighborhood (I live in a used-to-be-good neighborhood -- damn apartments/affordable housing always always attract undesirables). I know that many of the families here are poor so I buy extra candy every year so that I can give a generous amount away to each kid who comes by (there aren't that many kids around here). BUT!! Ever since these damn kids started to destroy my mailbox and writing the word "b|tch" on it, even though I've talked to them about respecting people's property, I've had it, so I didnt' give anything out this year. I turned off the lights and didn't answer the door. They opened my fvcking gate through the small slit even though I locked it.

Did you throw bottles at their windows when they wouldn't answer the door? Throw candy back in their faces saying "gimme some good candy mutha******!" One little kid even told our neighbor he was going to "cap his white ass". We had more police on our street than children half the night. These kids come to the neighborhood and act like you owe them something and they're here to take it. It may not be their fault they were raised to act in such a manner but it's not our fault either. We have our own families and homes to protect.

I live in a mixed neighborhood that is basically family oriented and respectable, and even my black neighbors won't answer their doors or let their kids stay out past 6PM on Halloween. It's like everyone goes in their bomb shelter and seals themselves in until morning.
