This seems to me to be a witch hunt. Bonkers has been a stong memeber here on anands site for a long time. Ive seen him offer some nice deals to the others around here. He has been pretesting cpus for others and selling, profit or not he's helping alot of people on these boards.
Those people are in turn coming back looking for other deals and possible clicking on that Mushkin ad thats been there for ever and a day.

Point is, it seems like the mods are picking on certain people/users. Am i next? How 'bout taking out some of the big guns too.

Seems to me it will help my selling or buying here if you just BAN all of em. That way my posts will stay up top for a long long time!

Another thing. If you have certain rules, excesive bumpage or what not, you want to go by. Im sure you can code it to work without having people post then learn after they have been punished or thread locked.

Guess ill see ya'll after my vacation, if the mods dont like my post ;)

Bonkers has been warned many times about his excessive bumpage. He obviously doesn't care about the rules in FS/FT.
In addition to the above, perhaps his 2-3 word neffing on many threads has irritated the powers that be be. Outside of his FS/FT threads and constant bumping, his "news" threads are posted in multiple forums, and as I mentioned, he constantly adds 1-2-3 word posts to many, many threads, with no contribution to the tone of the thread.
He, along with many others have accelerated thier member rankings with useless posts, maybe he is the tip of the iceberg afa the mods starting to crack down on this s**t!

I was wondering about the excessive bumping rule. What is the difference between someone bumping it himself or having 20 of his buddies bump it? I see some large threads that consist of 30 posts of "bump for good (insert product here)" or "bump for a good trader". Are these gonna be against the rules also since they basically cause the same problem?. Just curious.

As far as people saying "bump for a good trader" maybe instead of rules the people just actually thought before posting. Does the thread really need a bump or are you just increasing your post count or something stupid like that? There would be a lot less of a need for moderating if people just used some sense before posting.

I must say he does bump a lot, and I mean A LOT! Just cutting back half would still be more then enough.

sounds like a pretty good reason to boot him. not only did he bump a lot, he had many threads to bump. why not consolidate them? with him and UKDude gone, the FT forum seems a lot less cluttered.

When I looked at his last post he did not bump more thank once liek every hour or so. He did have 2 threads up, but whats so bad about having 2 threads going? He sells CPU's alot. Then another thread for the other random stuff he might be selling at the time.

<< It would also give the Average Anandtecher more of an opportunity to unload his wares so he can upgrade. Afterall that is what this forum was designed to do in the first place. >>

I know it?s hard trying to sell your item when someone else (reseller in particular) is selling multiple pieces of the same item at lower price because they have lots of it. I don?t try to rip anyone off, I always ask for what?s fair (which involves a number stuff, condition, how old the product is etc.). But once some reseller sales his items here at $100 bucks, everyone expects to get that same price. What they don?t understand is that I can?t sell my product for that price because I don?t get my product at a resellers cost. So I?m not able to sale at the price a reseller would. I mean even though it only means $10 more bucks.

I try not to let it bother me, because it really doesn?t. I will sell my product for what I feel is a reasonable price.

<< Now this doesn't mean that those who have quantities of items can't participate in the For Sale Forum, they just have to do much of their dealing behind the scenes and not so out in the open.Believe me it works well that way. >>

Agree, they must not abuse the system, but I see a lot of people abusing this privilege. I think that?s where the animosity is coming from. Like I said, this has never bothered me mainly because I don?t sell stuff all the time.

I remember Compuwiz1 once told me he was backing off for a while because he didn?t want the Mods to think he was abusing the privilege, others are not so rational. That doesn?t mean he won?t make money during the time being, I know he gets a lot of referrals. And I'm sure yourself too Red. Some will abuse the system, and think nothing of it.

I've had nothing posted for 2 weeks now. Am I not selling anything? Quite to the contrary.(I have a good base of previous buyers and referrals) I did not want to follow the trend of others to beat the prices on good merchandise into the ground. This hurts the individual, who is trying to get fair market for their hardware. I'm not into being the source of that kind of aggravation for people, and I don't like playing games with other traders, trying to compete, by dumping. If that's all they have to sell on, they probably better go look in the mirror, so they can determine the source of the weakness, because they are probably missing some respect, ethics, or don't understand value, vs. price. :Q

I took a few days off from the forums, but when did we decide that the bump limit was 3 times a day max?? I missed that. point me to that thread or line in the forum rules.
