Did you catch her scream for joy right after she landed the last jump? That was kind of cool.

Now get ready to see the other two Americans fall on their asses. </evil snicker>

The crowd reaction to Kwan's fall was, um, painful.

It does suck when you east-coasters ruin it for us west-coasters. I guess I should have known,
and not looked at ATOT until after all the events...

<< maybe it means What The Gay. >>

I wasn't going to say anything, but I just can't stop laughing every time I read WTG now. 😀

Hughes definitely was deserving.

Although, it was painfully obvious the scoring system needs to go. Beyond the problems with bias and collusion.

Before Slutskaya skated, Kwan was in first, and Hughes was in second.

After Slutskaya arguably received scores that were too high (she wasn't clean on a few landings), Kwan was dropped down to third.

I've never seen any other sport that works this way. It seems as if the judges wanted to award Hughes the medal she deserved, and in doing so (due to the scoring system), they may have flipped Kwan and Slutskaya.

Um, Kwan fell on her ass. Slutskaya didn't. Presentation matters here too. Just my opinion.

I was so happy for her. She did so awesome. Poor Michelle, I almost cried for her 🙁 Sasha is a little psycho, so I didn't feel so bad for her. She had a really good performance, other than that one fall 🙁

I think she really showed that you have to go into each performance like you can win the gold. She was positive throughout the entire competition and she showed just how much the medal meant to her by her amazed reaction. I am happy to have her represent the United States 🙂

Uh. No. Before the free skate Kwan was 1 the russian 2, Cohen 3 and Hughes 4.

Kwan fell on her ass and was ranked 2, Hughes was 1. The Russian knowing that Kwan fell thought she could go easy. She didnt skate a clean run but did land all of her jumps. Thus she got ranked 2. That gave a tie between the Russian and Hughes. Per ISU rules, in the result of a overall tie, the Freeskate winner wins. The Russians are protesting, citing biased judging, WTF? Thier person had a piss poor routine, skated the easiest out of all of them to be safe, and still didnt skate a clean run, was alot cleaner than Kwans though.

I'm glad she won. Who was the guy that gave her a 5.6 and gave the Russion a 5.9? Sweden? The judging still isn't fair, she was heads-and-shoulders above the rest.

They are actually changing the judging in future events. Doing away with the ranking, and having 14 judges judge, and then a computer will randomly pick 7 of the scores.

Wouldn't this make it just come down to how lucky you are with the computer? You could in theory win, but have the computer just choose your 7 lowest scores.

<< I wanted the girl that took the forth place to win -- she was much prettier! >>

I wanted a 1-2-3 USA finish, but I'm glad Sarah Hughes got Gold & we got Bronze as well.

WTG Sarah! What a performance. The person who won actually got the gold medal the first time around this time. Congrats to her.

She skated a perfect routine. I can't believe the Russians are complaining after their skater had several mistakes, including several double footed landings. Sara had a much harder and complicated dance and did it perfectly.

I am very proud of her, it was a big pleasure for me to watch the skater do their thing. I will remember it for years to come I am sure.
