That 608 has always been 1184. This is a 1.2mbps/160kbps adsl connection. I noticed things were a little sluggish lately and that my downloads weren't going very high. Can always be bad servers, etc... but it was happening everywhere - and when I would stream an mp3 from radiostorm or digitallyimported, my download would FALL from 60 to 35 or 45KB/s! Wtf is that! Me streaming mp3s never affected things at all. And on top of that, everything loaded slowly... IMs connected sluggishly, webpages pulled up sluggishly, not much faster than dialup.

So I take a bandwidthspeedtest.com test and it says between 500 and 600 (forget exact number) kbps! wtf! No wonder it's so slow, huh! So then I load up the ADSL Configurator which tells directly the info of your connection and it reads 608kbps/160kps. What kind of stupid BS is this? Has my ISP capped me lower for no reason? It is advertised as 1.2mbps, as always.

What is POSSIBLE in this situation? Could there be a bottleneck somewhere? Am I just paranoid? It IS annoying though. Wtf is this crap. I wait forever for this damn connection to finally get set up, then I have some multi-day outages, and now this bullsh!t? Wtf! Quality my ass!

I run DC++ when I want to download something. Otherwise I don't, because I don't like saturating my bandwidth. I have a LAN. There may be up to 3 people using this pitiful connection at any given time. If it's bogged down, people will come complain to me. I like the connection to be free, quick, accessible. So, it's not like I'm running servers (and even if I were, they would have no reason to do this. if they don't want me doing certain things they must SPECIFY. Otherwise it's assumed that everything is allowed. And I think everything IS allowed, according to their website. small company).

argh this is frustrating... i dunno what to think,. i'm going to wait for them to reply ot my email. I kindly inquired and also included that pic in a second email. I guess I'll find out soon whether they intentionally did this or there's just a prob somewhere.
