hey guys, dumb question but this has never happened with me before.

should i at least put the heatsink in some padding and put it back in there or what?

i might can find a bigger box.

it might sound silly, but if you ship it back, pack it the right way, to the HILT

last time i got something broken in the mail from FS/T , i took :camera:'s and sent them to the seller and told him i would ship the broken RAM back. he said don't bother and refunded my money

i just sent the seller pm saying i'm returning it. he shipped first since he was low on heat. i don't think he was trying to troll me but i'm guessing he is very young or unskilled in shipping.

was buying it for 200 shipped.


found the same mobo for 90 shipped and already bought it from another user off the forums, he is shipping first also but assured me he knows how to pack🙂
 
Now I understand why that guy I shipped two processors and heatsinks was going so nuts about assuring that I packed them correctly. I didn't think anyone would be that dumb about it, but I guess it happens.

I put the two processors in clamshell cases and that inside an antistatic bag, wrapped that whole mess in a piece of bubble wrap. I then duct taped a cardboard divider inside the box real good, to make two seperate compartments. I tossed the two sinks in loose on one side with a bunch of packing peanuts and then tucked the cpus in the other side with peanuts.

If those cpus got fvcked up, it wasn't gonna be my fault.
 
its the box is damaged during shipping like this, and the sender paid for insurance on the shipment, will he/she be entitled to get money from the post office for the damaged goods?
 
That's unfortunate. Expensive cost of tuition to be educated, but that's a good example of the different reasons why people with heats don't prepay to people w/o.

Yes. Take the high road on this one and package it to send back the way you would have wanted to receive it.
 
still at least waiting for him to sign on so i can let him know what happened before i ship it back.

he hasn't been on since yesterday, figured he would be on by now.
 
huh, you'd think he would at least have the processor locked into the socket...that's a cheap and easy way to keep the pins from getting bent.

exactly, i mean hell plugging the cpu in and even attatching the hs/f to the mobo then sticking it in the box would have been better than just throwing it all in there.

i'm thinking the shipper is really young. going to hold on to it until i know he knows what's up so he can be expecting it in the mail.

i almost cried upon seeing the bent pins.

I have gotten a few things that are shipped very badly. recived a ok p2 motherboard from someone that just stuffed it in a bubble envelope. But since i payd $5 (but paid 5shipping bah) i was not really that upset. amazing part is it still worked.

heh i even recived a used (less then amonth) Board from someone just stuck inside the box with a paice of paper with my address. I was kinda shocked it actually got to me heh.
 
Nice packaging job there :disgust: - and Sundog is dead on. Package it like you wanted to receive it, so hopefully the seller can learn from it.
