People are being allowed to go back to the White House now. Small aircraft is the cause.

CNN reports that all is clear and that people are proceeding back into the White House, US Capitol.

I heard that yesterday they found a grenade 100 ft away from the pres.

so basically liberals think it would be cool if Pres. Bush got blown up by a grenade.
conservatives just wanted to impeach/remove Clinton from office, not blow him up with a grenade

and the libs say neocons are the violent/aggressive/deranged ones :disgust:

btw, it's spelled Capitol. ;)

Anyway, glad to see they're organized enough to get defensive measures in place.

The reporters I was listening to actually seemed pretty worried. Glad nothing happened.

i thought it was miscommunication and that it was the kentucky governor who was actually cleared to enter that airspace.

The Kentucky Governor incident happened during Reagan's funeral in DC.

anyone else watching this Q&A session ? I don't know whether to laugh at this guy or be pissed that he's not giving direct answers. Dance dance dance.

For example, they're all asking who could've given the order to shoot the plane down, seeing that it was only 3 miles away from the white house (and the President wasn't necessarily in direct control/contact - he was out biking)... the guy keeps repeating "well it never came to that" ... blah.

The guy was flying a small single-engine Cessna that can barely go 100mph and seat two people. Even if it was packed full of explosives it wouldn't do much damage. I'd be more worried about U-Hauls.

U-Hauls can't get anywhere near the Capitol or the White House b/c of the heavy Secret Service Uniformed presence and Capitol Police presence. A plane, on the other hand, can get a lot closer.
