Voted today. Paper ballots now. After I signed my name, they handed me the paper ballot & wrote the unique number on my ballot next to my name. Is the question of who you voted for no longer private? The ballot was scanned into a machine. I'd have to be really naive to believe that no one would ever want to know who voted for who. There is now an electronic record of exactly who I voted for, linked to my name.

Any one else have this concern??

Something else I also noted: Jimmy McMillan's political party was spelled wrong. It's the "Rent is too damn high" party, not the "Rent is 2 dam high" party.

the machines just match up a grid to the black marks, they do not take a " picture" of the ballot. ( step mom used to work for a company that printed ballots)

here the numbers are just there to make sure, in the event of a recount, that there are the same number of ballots that they started with.

Doesn't matter what the machine does. Someone has my paper ballot. And, someone has my name with the number on my ballot.

That happened here too. Maybe this is an overreaction to all the complaints of not being able to verify a voter's ballot was counted correctly via electronic machines?

Ala Florida in 2000... a way to come back and ask the specific voter if they really meant to leave that chad dimpled or that box partially filled?

Here you rip Off the tab with the number on it before you feed it into the machine so the connection is lost.

Actually I think the "2" is correct or at least is accepted by the party itself.
