new update: my friend just called, he was in norris hall and saw the gunman outside his classroom, he said the guy shot at the door to their classroom trying to get in, but couldn't.

that's really damn scary... 20 people, and norris hall is the ESM department... i can't imagine that i don't know someone that got shot... as much as i want to deny it... i probably will.

From my link above:
The students and faculty were barricading themselves in their classrooms after what one person described as an Asian student wearing a vest opened fire.

The shooter was "wearing a vest covered in clips was just unloading on their door, going from classroom to classroom ? they said it never seemed like it was going to stop and there was just blood all over," Harrison said.

****** punk kid with the military style vest...this is not going to be good.

Also for the poster above, they did not want to evacuate, because it would be easier for the shooter if everyone was out in the open, so they told people to lock down and stay inside were it would be safer. That is the standard procedure until the threat can be neuatralized.

It also seems like the multiple crime scenes might be from the guy walking from AJ to Norris. 🙁

OMG.

they hadn't located the shooter after the first shooting, so they couldn't risk letting people evacuate. They then raised the lockdown, and he apparently struck again.

How does this make sense?
?Local FOX affiliate WFXR-TV in Richmond reported that one shooting occurred between 7:15 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. at West Ambler Johnston, and another at 10 a.m. at Norris Hall.?

why in the world didn't they cancel class or at least evacuate the campus. They had over two hours from that statement

That's what confuses the hell out of me.

yeah. wonder if it would have saved the other people. IF so then there are going to be a lot of lawsuits.

I'd think having hundreds of people running outside with a gunman on foot would be the last thing they'd want. Then again, having them locked in rooms where (I'm assuming) he'd know right where they are doesn't seem like that good of an idea either 🙁

It sounds like a damn battlefield in that clip they are showing on TV. 🙁

(Waits for insane politicians to make absurd remarks to get some mileage out of this)

One of the 22 was the shooter. He obviously gets no sympathy.

Whether he deserves it or not, any loss of life is tragic

So it was tragic when Hitler offed himself?

Yeah, he should have been tried as a war criminal.

And aren't you jumping a *little* far with that one? Clearly this kid was disturbed.

The CNN article updated about 5 mins ago still states the quote that a gunman is loose on campus. Is that accurate still?

Agreed. The death of a murderer isn't tragic.

Supafly: That goes without saying.

🙁

According to person on CNN: Victims may have been lined up and shot execution style with the gunman looking for his gf

That is so fucked up if that is true.

Yes, lets compare this to Hitler...that makes sense

I mourn all this loss of life. That is all I need to say.

Sounds like OP was being sarcastic. To bad you cant conceal carry at school. Easy targets for a psycho.

LOL, oh my god, please explain how everyone involved having a weapon in this instance would have resulted in *less* shootings? Seems to me that a bunch of jumpy students with firearms might well have turned the whole thing into a massacre. Or are you suggesting it's ok for more people to get shot as long as one of them is the guy who started it?

he is not saying everybody. all that is needed is for the possiblity that somebody will have a firearm - it is called deterrence and has kept this and the world safe from nuclear wars since the devices were invented, only 1 example (x2 bombs) were needed to show that we don't wnat to use that power on anybody or have it used on us. the same thing with said gunner - if he is at a school there is little chance anybody will have a weapon that is on equal ground with a firearm, so he has free reign. if there was the knowledge that other people may have a firearm, said shooter would possibly rethink his decision. if he still go along with it, there is a good chance somebody will at the training required to get a ccw permit will drop him, or at least wound him before others are taken out like with no thought of an encounter.
