The asian guy is now being reported as a student and additionally now they are saying he lived in the same building as the first two murders.

Seems to me at this point that it is very likely he is the only shooter. Could be otherwise but I doubt it.

I also enjoy this whole "ireporter" jazz they keep pounding the hell out of. Hey, you were in a major traumatic event and happened to get some sucky video on your phone. Want 15 minutes of fame? I wonder how willing those students would be to hand it over to the police instead and not get to have their name said on the news.

Doubt it. Dorms very often have a pretty high level of security. I doubt he could have had weapons in the room for an extended period of time without someone reporting it. Unless of course he had some sort of room to him self or was extremely a loner. They purposely design the dorms to limit hiding spaces for drugs or booze. Guns would be even harder. Since the beginning I have assumed the guy would have to be an off campus or commuter student.

It has been confirmed that the shooter lived in one of the dorms, but they didn't say if it was the dorm where the shooting occured.

If I could've brought a gun into my dorm room when I lived there (handgun would be simple, rifle harder but still doable), I could've kept it in my room all year easily without anyone finding it.

I just found out my 2nd cousin was shot in the face yesterday. I haven't seen him in years but his brother and I were born on the same day and used to be real close. This just hit home a helluva lot harder. I really don't know what to think now.

Clearview grad Sean McQuade was caught in the chaos of Monday morning's carnage at Virginia Tech, shot by the unidentified gunman.

Monday night, McQuade's family raced down to Roanoke, Va., to the bedside of the Virginia Tech senior listed in critical condition at Carlion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

"(He is) out of the operating room and he is sedated," explained grandmother Lorrie Forsmam as she traveled down to Virginia. "He is still critical, and they are going to keep him sedated throughout the night."

McQuade, a math major in his last year at Virginia Tech, was shot in the face during the Monday morning siege. Family members know little other than his condition as they make the eight hour trip.

"They couldn't get ahold of him all day," explained Lynn McQuade, Sean's great uncle. "My brother could hardly talk to me. His father is on the way there."

In high school, McQuade played basketball for Clearview Regional, with a career high of 22 points against St. Joe's Hammonton.

He will spend Monday night heavily sedated in the critical care facility.

"That is all we know and we are just praying that he gets through," said Lynn McQuade.

Why is it that people from other countries have to act all superior and unsympathetic anytime a tragedy in the USA strikes? It's not like this couldn't have happened elsewhere.

Oh and invidia, it's the media that puts the blame in the wrong place, not your "typical Americans".

I for one see no reason to place blame anywhere except on the shooter.

I have to agree with Clamum here. I'm a full-time college student at a university living in a residence hall. It's very easy for someone to conceal a wepon in their dorm room. Especially a handgun. There really isn't a way to have prevented him from having the weapons in his room. They do room checks throughout the semseter, however they are not allow to look through your closets, desk, etc.. They can only check your refrigirator and hold you accountable for items that are visable by just entering the room. I really feel like what the focus should be on in this case is the fact that the university did not shuntdown after the inital shooting at 7:00AM. You can NOT make assumptions that the gunman has fled the scene and is no longer on campus. That's absolutly ridiculous to even think. You should never assume something like that, and I really feel they should have shut the campus down. As we all know, even if they shut the campus down, the gunman could have still carryed out his plan of action. However, the incident would have been more isolated, and I really feel there would have been a less number of people killed becuase the law enforcement could have arrived to that one particular buidling with focus just on that builidng knowing he's inside instead of surrounding the entire campus not knowing for sure where is was.

I'll back calmum and DigitalWanksta up as well in that people brought all kinds of stuff to dorms that people never knew about. People have tons of alcohol stashed that is never found and like Digital said they can't check your personal belongings without a warrant/reasonable cause. It would be very very easy to hide a gun in amongst your clothes or stashed in a couch etc I can think of plenty of places to hide such things...or better way to put it, if you(or myself) can hide a couple fifths of alcohol or a couple beers you could easily hide a handgun and ammo for it.

From the perspective of the police though, it really would have seemed like an isolated incident. Obviously hindsight is 20/20, and in the future it will be different, but from an operational standpoint, its hard to justify closing down a university when something appears to be (rightfully so in my opinion) an isolated incident.
 
Cho Hui Seung the shooter. South Korean 23 olds. Harper Hall resident on campus. Same weapon used in both shootings one of the two he had that is.


When is the movie comming out.
