must be the area because i have never had a problem with UPS shipping other than they won't deliver early. if the package is scheduled for delivery on friday and they receive it on thursday they won't deliver until friday. so its not even really that big of a deal.

A friend of mine worked at the UPS distribution facility here in town. He told me lots of stories how the ones marked fragile or any box that looked like a laptop or a computer would get special treatment. Anywho... I got a high ticket item coming in today from UPS hopefully they had mercy on it.

Delivered a package to the wrong state. (How can you deliver a package to the wrong fvcking state?!)
Delivered a destroyed box with half the contents missing and the other half damaged.
Delivered someone else's box to us and then refused to pick it back up and take it to the right address.
Delivered more damaged boxes (they must play fvcking soccer or something in their sort centers) than I can count.
Delivered more boxes late than Fedex and DHL combined.

UPS sucks the big, fat, hairy one. They get as little of my business as possible. Not saying Fedex is perfect or anything, but Fedex is 10x as reliable as UPS in my book.

I havn't had any of the above happen to me except for the late shipping. Fedex will tell you it will be delivered on March 30th and then deliver it on March 28th, 29th. UPS will tell you it will be delivered on March 30th and if it is ahead of schedule they will hold it until the 30th (I watch the tracking page like I'm watching a sitcom) or if it is on time they will deliver it a day or 2 later.

Cliff Notes: UPS SUCKS.
Only with UPS can a NEXT DAY AIR package be delivered at 9:30PM. My faceplates arrived with the USPS at like 11 AM, my phone, with UPS, while munching on a late snack. Should've just got my cell phone 2nd Day instead of Next Day, its not like I got to do much with it.

FedEx loses your packages, UPS breaks them, and Airborne Express sells them to the Russian mafia.:)

I forget who I heard that from...

i've seen boxes from UPS that were that bad and were filled with expensive, fragile electronics. FVCK UPS.

Fed-Ex FTW. never had an issue with them.

IME reminded me that i also once got somebody else's car parts from UPS, and they wouldn't pick them back up. there's a reason "fvck-ups" has "ups" in it. :D

ive had even worse nfs4, ill have to see if i can dig up the pics, it was a sale to a user in FS/FT they dropped off a $1000 vapochill tower that was completely destroyed, the box was in SHREDS AND THEY HAD TAPED THE BOX BACK TOGETHER.

Then refused insurance payout based on "insufficient packaging" even though it was professionally packaged.

After 8 months of fighting i wound up taking them to small claims.

I guess I should just be lucky I've yet to receive a mangled box like that from any carrier.

Me, either. UPS just STEALS mine or pretends to deliver and then claims I was not there and makes me drive 30 miles to get it.

The funny thing is, packages from FedEx, FedEx Ground, DHL and USPS never arrive damaged...it's just UPS

Same, occassionally there will be a small dent, but ive never had completely destroyed merchandise from anyone else. Ive had 8 insurance fights with UPS over the years.

haha alright, it is a bit of an exaggeration, hence why i put dramatization in my post ;)

basically, UPS did deliver me a f*cked up case: the Black Front Faceplate was shattered from the base of the chassis, the four screws holding the Power Supply was actually stripped off from the chassis and rolling around when i got it, and it was dented and banged up all over the place.

so i basically stripped it, took what i wanted, which was the drive bay, which i crudely ripped/bent off, so i can eventually put my hdds standing up instead of laying on the side in the 1st pic below

a "right now" pic
another angle
my projected "finished" result (after i shave off the top)

Damn... Most of my packages from UPS arrive safely...

Except for that Thermaltake 480w PSU I sent to RMA... It came back beaten like someone tried to jump on it...

Thankfully PSU's are made of steel.

Yeah, i move a lot of merchandise through UPS' hands, most of it makes it there ok, then theres the packages that look like they feel off of the truck while it was on the interstate.
