yeap! he caused the Tsuanmi, the hurricans, the rian in the NW, fires in the south etc. damn him!

I remember that happening in that big southern snow storm of 1993 (?).

Another thing I remember that was weird about weather... I was about 7 years old, watching TV, it was bright and sunny outside. All of the sudden, I notice that it's pouring rain (still sunny). I thought it was a sprinkler or something at first, but I go outside, and it's pouring all around me. The sky was clear except for a small, but dense cloud. Everywhere else the sky was spotless. That was very unusual, and I haven't seen anything like it since.

It is really awesome

Agreed completely. It happened here in Charlotte a couple of winters ago. It was quite badass. I was out at the street getting the mail, it was afternoon and fairly dark out due to the dense cloud cover.

The ground was covered in snow (more than a a feet thick which is a lot for this area) and snow was still falling. Just before I got to the mailbox I heard thunder and saw flashes. I was shocked. How is there thunder and lightning when it is snowing? But it was really cool.

Where i NJ are you, sigs3gv?

I am in Lyndhurst (Giant Stadium). I went to the store a little while ago and it was freezing sleet, icy rain with really high winds.

came home, made dinner and it is snowing. Freaking my cats out.

big snowstorms are just thunderstorms. That is why there is lightning and thunder. I have seen/heard it many times over the years.

there was a thunder blizzard 🙂 just in time for rush hour in northern virginia in.. april of 1984. in other words.. before the dawn of time. 🙂

I was weeks.. like 2 weeks away from delivering our first child and we had taken the snow tires off the car the weekend before (sigh). the snow came fast and hard and stuck instantly, was the only time in the 12 years we lived there that we couldn't get home from work.. had to park the car (at a shopping center) and call a friend to taxi us home.

huge inconvenience all around (but the friend took us to his mom's house and she fed us dinner and coconut cake and that guy's mom made the *best* coconut cake in the world so it wasn't all bad), but it was a cool storm. all that snow and lightning.. really cool. only time I've ever seen such a thing.

funniest part (to me..) was when we called the guy less than 3 weeks later to tell him we had a new little girl, he was all freaked out and irritated that we hadn't told him we were expecting. had to think it was funny.. otherwise I mighta punched him! what'd he think, I'd gained 3000 lbs in 3 months 😛 for.. fun? sheesh!

sorry, I guess I digressed a bit..
we're in SC now and I am very jealous of your thundersnow. 🙂
