It's absolutely soggy / icy / rainy in IA right now. Driving on I-35 the whole of yesterday was something else - solid ice all the way. No one really went faster than ~40mph or so and saw a lot overturned / ditched vehicles. Heck, even 4WDs occasionally slipped and slided :D

Yahoo reporting that it feels like 68F, when they also say the high for today is 25F.

Well we did end up getting hit with an ice storm. I didn't think it was that bad, but apparently either we were very ill prepared or it was quite a bit worse than I thought it was (probably both), but a lot of places lost power (some still don't have it). This past week a couple of places in town (busy parts too such as downtown), it was like driving through a tunnel with lights out on both sides (one street had a couple of traffic lights out so there was about 10 blocks of almost complete darkness). Was a little weird. I don't know if a lot of the towns were doing a bad job on regulating trees (seems to be the main culprit is limbs downing lines and blocking roads), or what, but I was surprised at how big of an issue it was. I know we've had pretty mild winters (the last time I recall having a trully bad ice storm was probably a little over ten years ago), but the way people talk like we have bad weather (the stupid overused "if you don't like the weather here, wait ten minutes..." and other crap) its seems odd.

Last night we got some snow, looks to be about 4 inches or so. 80% chance of 1-2 today/tonight. I love the snow, could've done without the ice. Hopefully the snow won't cause any issues in getting the rest of the people back up with power.

68 degrees and sunny yesterday in SoCal. :) I don't know how some of you bear living in the far north and north east. Having four full seasons is overrated considering the crap you have to put up with during the winter.

Snow plows FTL.

I used to really like summer only, but now I really enjoy all four seasons, but the last few years its really felt like maybe two. We don't even seem to have Fall anymore, and Spring seems only to last a week before its done. Summer has been lasting way too long, and winter isn't what it used to be either. I think the trees are getting hit hard with the weather. Between some really windy days (which I don't recall really ever getting here), the temp swings (where it'll seem to fall right into winter cold, but then a week later it'll be like summer again), ice storms, and then stifling hot (and fairly dry until we get a bout of excessive rain), they've gotta be hurting (which is probably why there's so many fallen trees and broken limbs).
