Reformatting my computer 2 days ago... Install Office 2003 and won't let me activate since i've reinstalled too many times...

I've been on hold now for 20 minutes waiting 🙁

Yep! It's kinda hard to feel sorry for anyone technically savvy who's still using Microsoft products. You already know that there are cheaper and better alternatives available, so why don't you use them?

I think what he means is: "It's open source, it's better." Not: "It's better because it has more features, improved functionality, and a larger user-base."

I'll add that i switched my main machine from xp pro to xp mce and my laptop from xp home to xp pro (from the desktop)....yeah i got about a good hour to spend on the phone once i wanna activate these things...not looking forward to it

Yeah, the convenience of being able to take a document with complex formatting and special formulae from my home computer to my work computer or vice versa is just a stupid reason to use MS products. I'd much rather fiddle around with a converter and still have to spend 30-60 minutes re-working the formatting that got screwed up.

Sorry, but i fail to agree with your statement.

1. I got Office 2003 Professional for free.
2. Open Office isn't nearly as user friendly as Office is.
3. Powerpoint?
 
make a copy of your office DATA folder (couple files called OPA in there)
restore it manually after every install...end of activation problems
