? A Longview woman who sells sex toys has been charged with felony obscenity after White Oak police found some of her wares in her car during a traffic stop

The arrest report describes the 17 items as "obscene materials and obscene devices," but Police Chief Charlie Smith said the items were mostly lotions and objects defined in a dictionary as having the shape and often the appearance of the male genitalia, used in sexual stimulation.

Chances of this getting thrown out in court? Because a felony requires a jury, and no jury is going to convict that woman.

The seizure of the items occured during a traffic stop on Texas 42 on Old Highway 80 in White Oak at 10:27 p.m. Monday. Police stopped Grubbs' truck after seeing her driving erratically, an arrest report said. She failed or refused to perform field sobriety tests and was charged with driving while intoxicated, and a breath test showed she had blood-alcohol levels of 0.228 percent and 0.22 percent, the report said.

That DUI is more dangerous than any sexual stimulation devices.

She sounds like a winner.

Wonder if she's available.

They'll probably drop the obscentiy charge, and get an easy conviction on the DUI.

it is illegal in texas to sell or have dildos. the only way people can get around it is by selling them as "educational devices." it's also illegal to have sex with a member of the same sex.

Pardon me! Isn't there a lesson to be learned here?

Do not dildo and drive!

I guess open container laws DO apply in the Lone Star!

Brought to you by Mothers Against Dildos....

So they got her on both possesion and dealing?

Aren't there forfeiture laws that apply to this?

You people wouldn't be laughing if one of your loved ones had succumbed to the temptations of dildoes.

These dildoes are just a gateway to even more heinous crimes!

I live about 5 miles from where this stop occured. I can tell you that the police department that stopped her is mostly young officers fresh out of Police Academy. White Oak is a small conservative town of oilfeild worklers. Several of my Co-workers wives have been to these "Slumber Parties" and from what I hear they are harmless fun with lots of laughing, joking, and giggling and such. I will bet that the obesenity charges will be dropped after the case is turned over to the D.A.

Slumber parties? The ones that people I know have hosted, were called Either "Naughty Toy Parties", or "Adult Toy Parties".
