wtf? temps of 70 celc on winchester?

k wtf.. i sued nvmonitor to see temps but i dled smartguardian and its sayin g70 now.. and when i go back to nvmonitor it still says 70 so i touch the heatsink and its hardly even warm. WTFFfff

You most likely have your heatsink installed wrong; its not touching the CPU so the heat can't leave the CPU, meaning your HSF isn't hot but your CPU is. Take it off, remove the thermal interface material, put some AS5 on it, and reinstall it.

nope. if i dont open smartguardian then nvminotor shows 35-38 idle and so does bios so im pretty sure the problem was smartguardian




heatsink is a zalman7000alcu. these things fit onto the cpu TIGHT

oh, why didn't you say that in your OP :confused:

probably just a compatibility issue between the two programs, nothing to worry about. I have both of those programs and it doesnt' do that, but I can't understand how you made that happen. Did you open one of the programs first and then the other?

have you gone into the Bios and see what temperatures say?

I also recomend UNINSTALING the fan and reinstalling it again. One can never be too careful.
