The system consists of a Remington 870 12 gauge pump-action shotgun mounted on a M16 or M4 assault rifle in an underbarrel configuration, much like the M203 grenade launcher. It has a 3-round internal magazine and can carry a fourth round in the chamber.

Having previously owned an AK, I can attest to the truth of that statement :D

This, and it's all up front. Worst possible place to put extra poundage.

Besides, have fun taking your hand off the trigger to actuate the pump every shot. In between that and the weight I imagine the novelty would wear off rather quick.

That said, it looks badass.

Your dominant hand moves from the rifle trigger to the shotgun trigger, your weak hand works the pump.

At least, this has always been my assumption inferred from the M203...I can't say I've ever actually seen someone use the underslung shotgun thing. Plastic-stocked generic Mossberg (no pistol grip, no tacticool at all; just an effective lightweight shotgun) does the job fine. And the whole 'OMG fast transition' thing is silly. The guy with the breaching shotgun does not immediately run through the door after blowing it off the hinges.

lol, so in very simple terms, it's two guns duct tapped together. :D

I think it needs a sniper rifle attached to it too. That way you have long range mode, mid range mode (AK) and short range mode (shot gun) all in one gun. Advanced models can also get a grenade launcher, call that "fuck it" mode.

It's not made for rapid fire during a gun fight. It's designed for door breaching, so one shot. Use the shotgun to get the door open and the rifle for clearing the room. Certainly not a light weight set-up but it's also not something your going to gear up with for a long trek either. It's a good solution for niche situations.

War must be like golfing sometimes. I am picturing driving from objective to objective in your camo jeep complete with umbrella and golf bag full of assault weapons.

As you size up the next objective you'll ask the caddie if he thinks you should go with the silenced 9mm or the shotgun/AK combo this round. Just then Tiger Woods sneezes when you're about to start and you shoot him instead. Oops.

I heard the UN is considering a new rule to forbid the bracing of a firearm against any part of the body. Weapons must be held freely in the hands.
