WTF, Outlook 2000 won't let me access a file attachment...says it blocked access. HELP!!!

I got an email with a file that I need (not a virus), and there's a little yellow box saying that Outlook has blocked access to a potentially harmfull attachment.

Screw you @%!@#%^!#, let me access the damn file!!:|

Did you install Microsoft security pack? I did this and Outlook would not let me recieve attachments, also this cannot be uninstalled, you must uninstall outlook and reinstall.

Bummer🙁

I beg to differ, if you install both SP1 and SP2 for Office 2000 and a bunch of security updates for Outlook 2000 or just some security updates for Outlook 98, Outlook will still let you receive attachments, except it's gonna be a bit more restrictive when it comes to the type of attachments. For example, I know it will block access to .exe, .bat, .vbs, .msi, .com, and a bunch of others, but it will let you receive .zip, .doc, .xls, .txt and so on. I know, I couldn't believe it when I first encountered that problem. I did a little research and found there was no way to work around it on the client side. I ended up formatting, reinstalling and avoiding SR2.

Can you forward the e-mail to another account? How about double-clicking to open it in its own window (might be able to save it off thereafter with a right-click).
