Doesn't say that it will close, just that the company which puts on events will go bankrupt.

Other articles I've seen are saying it's going to close up entirely, the money for running it(safety, upkeep, etc.) isn't there.

So go before it close. What's stopping you?

Oh, I don't know, an expensive trip to Germany, the lack of a car worthy of driving on it, a family that would rather go to Disney for vacation than see me drive really fast around corners....

Is it your dream or is it not? Do you want it to stay as your dream forever?

Plenty of people drive cheap cars on the ring. You can rent expensive cars, I'm sure.

Why would you bring the family to Nurburgring? Bring a family to the ring would be complete waste of money.

Fly to Frankfurt, rent a BMW 1 series, drive to the ring, enjoy. Can probably done for less than $2500.

LOL- I don't know if you've seen the economy or not, but I haven't had a raise in 5 years, prices of everything have nearly doubled (including health insurance), and the only place I have any money is in my 401K.

My best chance of going there will be when I'm retired in 20+ years.

Ohio is pretty depressed One of the reasons I left the state 4 years ago.

I'd seriously leave in a minute, but we built a new house right before the economy tanked, so we'd take a big loss on it if we sold.

*sigh*...in the meantime I can only yearn from afar.

Sounds like you have no actual plan of making your dream a reality. Therefore, it's going to remain your dream forever.

You really think 20 years from now, money is going to be more available to you? Not unless you start planning it today.

US economy will never recover to what it was, look at where all the manufacturing jobs are.

Well, yes money will be available 20 years from now. I'm scheduled to retire with a very nice 7 figure 401K, plus a few term life insurance policies will mature, and my wife gets her pension for the rest of her life.

Things just suck right now due to bills, upcoming college for the kids, and my wife's constant health issues. It will get better, but not anytime soon.
