also, i have a friend in texas that told me over 1000 people just came to their small ass town (population:30,000) and allready 3 stores were robbet, and over 60% of males in his town were cops. They had allmost no crime at all.

But thats not the case. the case is that the mayor is a stupid retard and everyone is blaming bush.

you are stating complete bs.

1st - show some evidence of the 2000 buses
2nd - you stated they knew 2 weeks ahead of time and hurricanes are possibly the least predictable natural occurance
3rd - the mayor was in new orleans when the president was there

dumbass katrina was on tv heading to new orleans for such a long time. the 2000 busses were school busses that are now laying in the water.

The Godfather of Dumbass would better describe your writings.

that was unnecessary. Im gonna sound like a total douche, but it's guys like you that can't politely tell someone where they went wrong that is taking this forum down the tubes.

There is actually a human being on the other end of this thread :disgust:

flame on

Riiiight.. And people that create threads with the express intent of creating flame wars are really adding a lot to these forums. Lets recap:
"2000 busses that weren't used to evacuate the so called "poor" people, they were warned weeks before it struck."

WTF is is a "so called" poor person?
I never knew people had "weeks" to prepare for a hurricane.

"I bet they stayed so they can get a good deal out of federal support and BS like that"
I'm sure all dem dumb poor people had the amazing ability to predict this disaster and risked their lives in a deadly flood full of pestilence to get a $2000 debit card... Sure

Would you like me to continue or do you think I'll offend you :disgust:

haha, you think I was defending the origional post? hardly, the validity of this thread is irrelevant.

The point that I was making was simply that the OP had been told this was a mass repost, His ideas were old, and it was nothing new. You just came up with a smart ass comment to good to keep to yourself, which was completely unnecessary. YOUR post showed more ignorance and stupidity than the OP's

Go on, argue with me. I really don't care. I'm teaching you a life lesson here. You LOSE credibility when you call people names, and when ATOT becomes a board full of juveniles calling each other names, then... it goes down the tubes.

(btw, I can take a joke, but this kid is forcing me to sound even more like a douche)

The problem is not the poor planning, or the poor people - it's the rampant classism that is prevalent in the US, and how the majority and middle class refuse to admit it exists.

Oh my god, you are so right. And we could have driven them to a 5 star hotel and just dropped them off at the door. Happy ending. Seems you have all the logistics figured out. I will vote for you to be the mayor next eelction. You are agenious!

well, for your info, i'm not middle class, nor majority. i've been poor, my whole family has been, but we never made it racial or started asking for bogus support. even in worse conditions for employment and success than the usa, we still somehow survived and immigrated here. so don't start sh1t with me that i'm talking all of this because i'm "middle class"

no, but we could have used the funds, and transport to "drop them off" to a shelter in another state or city.

Hey you're right at first he said no one drove them out in "busses", and the next thing right out of his mouth is "also, i have a friend in texas that told me over 1000 people just came to their small ass town ". So you want to remove them, but not put them in that town?

what an ignorant fool

you have nothing to say to contradict me
I just did.

Probably earthquakes or tornados are less predictable.

Just to let you know, the people who stayed in New Orleans hadn't been receiving warnings for "weeks." I believe they had two days--saturday and sunday--during which they were told to leave. Beyond that, I saw the traffic first-hand, and will tell you that even though I'd have left if I were in NO, I'd have thought long and hard about staying after looking at miles upon miles of vehicles standing still on the highway.

Also, it's not exactly easy to go around gathering all of these holdouts up. First of all, with many of them being poor and/or uneducated, it's very possible that at least a few had no idea what was going on. Secondly, I'd imagine they were scattered throughout the city fairly thoroughly.

Finally, Florida is hit by hurricanes every year, like you said. New Orleans isn't. In fact, it's never been directly hit by a hurricane. The last hurricane that was supposed to wipe them out came and left with little effect. If you had lived through that, in your entire life had never experienced such a horrendous storm as this one, and had no immediate means of leaving, would you even bother seriously looking for a way out? Possibly, but I'm sure many people wouldn't.
