WTF, Nero? Is there anything else that replaces it?

another for Imgburn. I also use foobar2000 + audio CD burning plugin to make mix CDs for the car. That's about all I need since recording data CDs and DVDs is completely irrelevant thanks to USB drives..

with the right head unit, making mix CD's for the car is irrelevant too...

I've used both CDBurnerXP and Imgburn.

They both work great for what they are.

But what do you use when you no kidding have a few videos on your camera that you would like to turn in to a standard single layer DVD with a menu for the parents, grandparents, etc?

It doesn't seem so easy then...

Nero used to be great for this...

Why do you use both? As far as I can see, both provide the same functionality?

I use an OEM version of Nero 7 that I got for free with a DVD drive somewhere. Seems to work with Win7 64-bit.

I already have IMGBurn, and I use it in a crisis, but I was really comfortable with the old Nero interface.

What, doesn't this mean anything to everybody who still suggests this?

Seriously though, what exactly do you mean by "doesn't have as many fine-tuning options"?

I have Nero 10, it works fine. I only have the Burning ROM though not the entire suite.

I've used both.

I've tried them both out, and they seem to work equally well.

I might have to see if I can give ashampoo a try though.

Ironically... I never thought to try and use WMM. I will have to try that too.

Am I the only one that seems to see that he's saying he wants to take simply videos and put them onto a DVD with a menu. That's *not* a simple program, that's *not* a simple image burn (you don't have a prepared image), and that's *not* a drag files onto disc operation. OP you *do* have to have an application that transcodes, there's no getting around that. Your files are not MP2 and a menu has to be made, along with converstion into the vob/vts dvd architecture, that is transcoding. I recommend Nero or ConvertXtoDVD. There are more complicated softwares that give you more fine grained control but I still run the newest nero because it's easy and does all the intermediate steps without having to fool around with it.

In the rare occasion I need to burn a DVD, I use Power2Go. It does everything I need it to do.
