Hmm, that does blow. What are your typical download speeds? (Go to microsoft.com and download something) If your average download speed is 10% of what you're supposed to have, that's great. (I have 1.5/128 and I download around 150kb/sec depending on server) I don't know why the hell it would be that low though. Are your phone lines old, and how far away are you from the telephone office?

Oh boo hoo. 1.5 megabits per second translates to 187.5 kilobytes per second. 139 kilobytes per second is pretty decent on a dsl line.

Its very rarily this slow, but Comcast has been having problems the past few days, it was out for a few hours the other day and it doesn't look like they have it all cleared up

Your download speed : 1776120 bps, or 1776 kbps.
A 216.8 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 364342 bps, or 364 kbps.
Seems like broadband .. above the 1mbit barrier!

Taken from Renob's - he's not talking about the transfer rate - he's talking about the overall speed. (I think)

lol dude, if I understand your question correctly this may be your answer. ISP's usually measure your bandwidth in kilobits or megbits a second. Your downloads are measured in kilobytes a second. So, 1500 kilobits/sec divided by 8 (to convert bits to bytes), comes out to roughly 187 kilobytes/sec. Now you are probably using cable, which can get bogged down and not reach it's theoretical (sp?) speed, so you're okay.

Mine

However, I am able to download a file off of my web site at an average of 306Kb/sec...so my max download is considerably faster. :)

That server is in LA...I'm in NY...so that might have something to do with it. :p

Do the Tweak Test at dslreports.com. Chances are you'll have to adjust your RWIN, TTL, MTU, etc.

I installed ICS on my XP multi-homed box and after that my download speed went from 1.2mbps to about 240kbps. Redid the Tweak Test and used DRTCP to adjust the settings, rebooted and all was back to normal.
