Maetryx here,

Ah, the snooze button. Quite possibly the worst invention of all time. I *plan* on hitting it over and over. I have been so conditioned to it as to feel offended if someone expects me to actually get up on the first alarm.

I too show up at work not at 8:00 but in the "8 o'clock hour" and sometimes even the "9 o'clock hour". But then I stay later to make up for it. Which doesn't work well because I end up on AnandTech....

ok, ok. i should have made it more clear. THIS IS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE AFTERNOON!! and all she does is go to school in morning, sleep, get up, work, sleep. I have seen her sleep for almost the whole day!. no wonder why she always complains about headaches. She sleeps too much.

i still can't believe you guys would use an alarm to wake yourself up. especially if it's that annoying buz beep beep beep...

waking up more naturally i think just makes life a little nicer. i wake up naturally to light. don't know but this just seems like something natural. if i do have to set an alarm, i use music to wake me up. but something light.

being shocked out of sleep on a daily basis.... not the way i want to go. plus i think it would be bad for your health?

I personally use 5 alarms to wake up... I tend to turn them off when I'm still sleeping...

I've got a pair of clock radios with a pair of alarms in each, and a 3rd single alarm across the room...

Some mornings, all 5 are STILL not enough... :)

I need a GF to wake me up... :D

thats funny because I live in the nyc metro area and beloved patriot is used to refer to KOREANS around here. My korean friends tell me the word comes the korean word han-beloved patriot which means "korean" in korean.

"beloved patriot" is one of those ubiquitous words that can offend some people but have a nice normal meaning as well. Like niggardly. But I digress.

I wake up naturally, too. I've never been a late sleeper, and can't sleep past 8am, no matter what time I go to bed. Only time I used an alarm clock was when I had to get up really early for school. Now I just trust my body to know when to get up. Like Kramer. :)

i never use an alarm, don't even have one. i just wake up when i need to wake up; even if that means 4 am. usually i just wake up at dawn but if it's earlier than that i just set my mind to wake up at a certain time and i always wake up within 15 minutes of that time.

i hate the snooze button. i used to live with a gf and we'd both basically have to wake up at the same time but she would always set the alarm an hour earlier and then hit the snooze every 10 minutes until it was time to really get up. pissed me off. i even offered to just wake her up when it was time but nope, that was part of her routine to wake up. that's one of the reasons, amongst a million others, that she's an ex-gf.
