What exactly kind of server are you trying to get running?
Which OS, and what server is it?

Thank you

Are you running IIS? It, by default, has a FTP server enabled.

Try to "ftp localhost" from the command prompt. If it answers, you're already running an FTP server that you need to disable somewhere in the MMC. Otherwise, it's something else.

You logged in as administrator?

Okay, I had IIS running because I tried to get it running with that first. Anyway, yes, I am logged in as Administrator. I disabled IIS and then tried Bulletproof to no avail.

I have a LAN connection using Netgear RT314 router. Port 21 is forwarded to this machine along with the apropriate filter rule. I have the site home directory set up and the same drive shared under the 'Web Share' tab in the drive properties.

I would rather use IIS than Bulletproof. With IIS running I can 'ftp localhost' into the server and log in using one of the Windows 2000 user logins.

Everything seems fine, but when I try to access the server using IE 6 or WS_FTP it won't connect. Any suggestions?

I forwarded the port range 20 to 21 to the IP of the comp. on my LAN if that makes any difference.

Should I also forward the port range of the ports used in passive mode?

WTF is my damn problem?

try Guardster and see if you can surf to your FTP site. Use the Anonymous Surfing section Guardster
Also your ISP may be blocking Port 21 and others for serving. My ISP does and I can't serve any files or web pages.
