WTF my dad is acting like a big baby

It's kind of pathetic that you can't get past a petty issue to help your father. Some people have no humility or sense of loyalty.

I would but last week he promised he was going to pickup something for me I was going to buy in another town that he happened to be going to but he didn't and didn't let me know, thus causing me to miss out on the sale.

Now who is acting like a baby.
You didn't do something for me so I'm going to pout about how that big meanie treated me wrong.

Obviously there are some other issues involved here then simply doing something free of charge for your dad. It sounds like you don't care much for your dad. Sounds like there has been beef between you two for some time now. Did he abuse you as a kid? Is he a dead beat loser dad? Or are you just a whining little ungrateful bitch of a kid that can't do a simple favor that you know how to do?

Go to his house but bring your own keyboard and mouse, or rubber gloves.

you would get sympathy if it were a friend or non immediate family member but because it's your dad you come off looking like an asshat. it's your dad, help the guy who raised your ass out?

And, there's a rule about when you've gotten yourself into a hole, STOP DIGGING! You keep making one excuse after another & it's not helping your case one bit - just making YOU look like the big baby.

Sounds like there are a lot of ppl here who don't have a good relationship w/ their dads

I'm sure there are but if that was the case they wouldn't really ask you for your help.

We answered your question; Youre being a dick. The excuses you come up with just make you look like child.

This thread is now about chessecakepizzawaffles.

It's your dad. Stop being a prick.

My parents called me up last Wednesday and said that their internet wasn't working. I drove an hour home to Burlington, fixed it, then drove an hour back home. Two days later, the router ended up crapping out. I bought them a new router, drove the hour back to Burlington and installed it, then started my drive back home. 20 minutes into the drive back, my dad couldn't get his work laptop to connect so he called me on my cell. I walked him through getting it setup and he was all set.

I didn't complain, I didn't bitch to my parents. I just did it. They're my parents, they gave me life, and they have done a shitload of stuff for me over the years. If they ask me for help, very rarely do I turn them down because they don't ask for much.

Why not fix it right to begin with? Have your dad buy Acronis or some imaging solution, install it, take your image and the next time he "breaks" it's a 15 minute job to reimage. Big deal. Grow up boy. I almost missed out with my dad before he died way too young. Thankfully I was able to become very close the last few years he was here.

Keep it up, and you will not know what you have missed until it is all over.

Well since I'm not fixing it right I shouldn't be messing with it, he is more than welcome to go to any to the local pc shops

The quewstion is... why dont you want to go to your parents house? Is your mum a pain in the a?

I hate fixing my dads pc. My theory was that if i point him in the right direction he will learn to do it himself (he is a normal old person scared of computers)

He can now fix his pc himself.

I agree that the task of unplugging it all is pretty freaky to old people. You might as well go over and fix it. Say hi to your mum for us 😀
