WTF? My cell phone makes my oven timer add seconds!

So I'm sitting in my kitchen after putting some cornbread in the oven and I hear my phone (TMobile MDA) buzz. Grab it from the living room and go back to the kitchen...just an email from my gf saying she's on her way back from yoga. My RSS reader is downloading some feeds as well. I set my phone down on the counter next to the timer counting down until my delicious cornbread will be ready and I hear BEEP...BEEPBEEPBEEPBEEP. I glance at the timer and see the seconds counting UP instead of down. Move the phone, it stops. Put the phone back next to it, BEEPBEEPBEEP. Whodathunkit?
