So I ordered a few DVI-D cables from Monoprice the other day for the first time.

They came in yesterday and HOLY COW! They're HUUUUGE! The girth, the ferrite cores are MASSIVE... I think I'll use them for self-defense if needed.. they can surely knock people out in a jiffy..

Anyone else use Monoprice for cables? They are REALLY cheap but seem to be of great quality; meaning, good cables minus the marketing tomfoolery.

I bought a DVI-D from Fry's the other day (10ft.) and it was $19.99 whereas the ones from Monoprice (10ft.) were ~$11 each!

Noel Lee (Monster Cable) sure is a smart guy; marketing to the max! LOL...

I just bought a 3.5mm audio cable from them. I bought the premium one because the price was still cheap. Its the awesomest cable ever.

Look at this thing.

They are also good for wall mounts. I bought a wall mount for around $30 shipped for a 37 inch LCD TV. Super cheap, but works great.

It's kind of a mixed bag. I tend to prefer slimmer/more flexible cables, but still buy MonoPrice cables for some stuff.

they have awesome products, great service, and very reasonable shipping charges. what's not to like about them? all we can hope is that they don't turn into newegg.

A lot of people focus on the length, and forget how important girth can be.

Love them. I keep a nerd kit of cables(hdmi, dvi, stereo, speaker, VGA, Ethernet, db9s) in my car for emergencies. I use monoprice to keep my kit stocked.

I love monoprice but was extremely disappointed in how they handled that credit card breach and have not shopped there since... Although I'd still use them for extremely long cables

Uh, I'd love for them to turn into Newegg. They actually offer free shipping on some of their products, they're faster to my house than Amazon and have a return policy only bettered by Amazon, and their selection/prices are superb. Maybe they aren't "as good" as they use to be and their interface is a little less intuitive, but they're still Top 5 to me. I can also easily switch allegiances from Monoprice to Cablesforless and not miss a beat, can't do that with Newegg.

good ole monoprice. i usually buy the very cheapest cables they have just because the mid or premium grade ones are wayyy better then they really need to be. but if i was going to run some permanent link cabling, they have some fantastic options.

I have yet to partake in their DVI cables but have enjoyed their HDMI and 3.5mm audio cable.

There have been a couple of tight spaces where I didn't go Monoprice because I couldn't tell if their cables would be flexible/small enough but I am pretty sure I used them for all of my A/V runs in my basement as well as all of my wall plates

Yeah - that was a disappointment. I have a credit card with a small limit that is pretty much never used and I make sure to use that so I can keep a close eye on the activity

Yeah, sometimes their cables don't actually work so well in areas that are extremely tight fit or the connector has a tiny spot - their cables and connector ends tend to be massive and stiff.

But if those aren't a concern, or if you can work around those slight issues, their cables are amazing.

Super overkill.
Is that a good thing though? Wouldn't signal degrade faster on that due to its size?

I like them.
Much better than the stores.

But if I can find what I need at Amazon under Prime then I use them first.
