WTF, look at this Microsoft rebate form (pic)

I bought Asheron's Call Dark Majesty to get over a limit so I could use a coupon then send in the rebate on the game (making it free).

Look at the rebate form that came on the box.

It is laminated, so hard to write on, but it's the FREAKING SIZE

This is next to a AA battery and on top of a credit card.

How the hell is anyone supposed to fill this out? I gave up and putting it on an index card.

Normally Microsoft has good rebate forms and awesome fulfillment services.

I've gotten rebates like those from software products. The rebates come on the outside of the box in a 1" x 1" square and you have to micro print everything. I feel bad for the people who have to read those and enter the data.

its a big conspiracy. They know some people will give up on writing in that small space so thats one less person that they have to cut a check to...of course, this is all speculation :D

What's wrong with my keyboard :(

I like it. Just a regular Dell. Have had it a few years and works good for me :D

I don't like those ergonomic ones really, they aren't comfortable for playing games (for me anyway, or maybe I didn't get used to them). I assume that's what people are making fun of :p

My optical wheel mouse came with a rebate form just like that.

Why they decided to laminate the things is beyond me. I filled it out and included an index card with all the info, so that they would have some readable information.

Heh I just like the old clickety keyboards. I like the tactile feedback :D

Those ergo ones I don't find comfortable.

This one is probably 4 years old, just the standard 104key Dell.

Replaced one almost exactly like it that broke after 4 years of use because I dropped something on the keypad :(

*hugs keyboard*

Did you get that previous keyboard or wrist rest at Adam computers in Dallas?

I'm with you on the keyboard. I've got the same one and it's on it's third computer now! I love that keyboard.

Wow yeah it is actually. The wrist rest, not the keyboard. The original keyboard came from Adam's though, was 93 or 94. Bought a 486DX2/66 from them, was a really good place at the time. A few years later called about a P2 system and they had apparently gone downhill (I bought from them the first time based on a recommendation from the MIS professor out here. I talked to him about them a few years later and he said they weren't what they used to be).

So I dunno if they are still in business or not. Were real nice guys the first time around though. In 93 or 94 they had a computer running and it was showing a football game and I was just standing there with my mouth open like a bonehead. Was blown away :p

So yeah it puts the wrist rest at 8-9 years old :) Still works great, haven't found another that's better. Still have a mousepad from them (but don't use it, as well as 2 more wrist rests).

I see that yer from Dallas.

I got my first computer from there, with wristrest + mousepad. It was in '96, a P1 133. I forget what the problem was but they had to replace some component because of crashing. They also shortchanged me on the amount of memory they installed. I still have most of the components in a secondary machine.

Ha ha, poor guy. Comes to rant about a rebate check, and it turns into a total slam-fest on his keyboard.

A lot of MS rebates are like that. I usually run them through the copier, enlarge them as much as I can, then fill out the copy and attach the original. That usually satisifes them.

Alternativly sometimes MS puts them online so you can just print out a form as big as you want
