Still wont stop you from tanning. I used to use 80 spf block when working at a water park over the summer and I would turn black by the first month.
When I worked outside painting I didn't use any sunblock (not a good idea in retrospect). Usually there would be some shade but I'd always have to spend some time in the sun. I guess I have just enough ethnic in me, as I got tan but nothing serious. Though I did end up with some blatant tan lines.
Anyways, there's a difference between outdoor manual labor and a day at the beach. I reckon sunblock would be sufficient protection for casual beach outings. Plus, enjoying the elements is half the fun of going to the beach!
perhaps this is not understood by people who spend all their time in an office building, but some of us actually consider sitting exposed under 100* sun pretty fucking retarded. if i'm going to endure the sun, i'm actually going to be doing something fun (or making money).
