**UPDATE** She told me to return it- we're getting him a swing set instead. *sigh*, mark it up to another case of "do what I'm told, not what I want to do."
Do you guys keep any separate discretionary spending accounts, where you can spend the money on "fun" stuff without having to justify it to each other?
Eh...we have separate accounts, but we talk to each other about big purchases. We don't generally spend a lot, so it doesn't come up often. She just doesn't want to spend $500 on a game console, so I have to respect that.
Dude. Are you serious?
You told her you were buying an Xbox 360. Did she ask you how much it would cost? No. She said "Ok." I'd tell her the only way the Xbox is getting returned is if it's pried from my cold dead fingers.
"Local man found dead clutching Xbox 360."
EDIT: Just saw your second update. Maaan. Well, do you think your son is happier with the things you got him or will he be happier with a 360? If he'll like his 360 more, save up some money and get him the damn thing.
Maybe you and your son can pull a fake injury from the trampoline and guilt your wife into returning all that and getting the 360.
