Well, my wife cheated on me with a drug dealer, so I kicked her out, and now I'm romantically involved with her sister, who is married to one of my best friends. Oh, and their younger brother is my roommate. Yay for chaos.

Please create a separate thread regarding this post so that we may pick it to death and nominate your "Drama Life of the Year" as well as "ATOT Topic of the Year". Thanks!

It's already been done:

**UPDATE** She told me to return it- we're getting him a swing set instead. *sigh*, mark it up to another case of "do what I'm told, not what I want to do."

Do you guys keep any separate discretionary spending accounts, where you can spend the money on "fun" stuff without having to justify it to each other?

Eh...we have separate accounts, but we talk to each other about big purchases. We don't generally spend a lot, so it doesn't come up often. She just doesn't want to spend $500 on a game console, so I have to respect that.

Dude. Are you serious?

You told her you were buying an Xbox 360. Did she ask you how much it would cost? No. She said "Ok." I'd tell her the only way the Xbox is getting returned is if it's pried from my cold dead fingers.

Not married, eh?

ROFL...

I agree with the OP.
Happy wife makes Happy marriage..
Good luck!!

Separate spending accounts FTW.

My wife and I don't have this set up yet, but in the next year or two once we have more money in our savings account then we'll each get $100 per month to do whatever we want with or something.

Though if it's your hard earned money (which it sounds like it) tell her to shhhh. You did a nice thing and your son will/does surely appreciate it.

"Local man found dead clutching Xbox 360."

EDIT: Just saw your second update. Maaan. Well, do you think your son is happier with the things you got him or will he be happier with a 360? If he'll like his 360 more, save up some money and get him the damn thing.

Maybe you and your son can pull a fake injury from the trampoline and guilt your wife into returning all that and getting the 360.

The update is my son isn't enjoying any of the stuff---a tornado destroyed nearly everything we bought, and we're waiting for the insurance check heheheheeheheh. How funny is that?!!
