Ever since your kindly government taxed the second parent into the work force, it's been going to pot. That combined with the quality programming available on television and in the movies, our marketing-driven "I want it all and now" society and a poor educational system (again, thank your kindly government) means life is imperfect.
Bullsh!t. Now that is the worst example of buck passing I have ever seen JB.

Senior year in my high school, a kid who tested at the genius level (me) wrote a thesis on how the lack of parental involvement in bullied kids lives, brings these kids to "fix" things on their own. Recall Columbine? Well, I wrote the paper before Columbine happened. The teacher gives me crap after reading it, saying that my research didn't have any proof. She ate those words two months later.
I fixed it to include some of Columbine, and proved my point even more.

Take it from students and children, not these stupid psychologists, why this sort of thing happens. They'll tell you exactly why. Shrinks just tell you that they'll know more "next time", wanting more money.

That did sound like excuse making didn't it? I simply meant those factors, IMO, helped bring about the messed up situation today. Our government, educational system, society and pop-culture make it extra difficult to become balanced, clear-thinking people.

But make no mistake, individuals are ultimately responsible for their actions. And that's important.

This is very terrible. I do not see how kids of 12 and 14 years old could do such a think. i mean my goodness they are still kids. I hate when things like this happen. I always wish there was a way to stop it from happening. I know its not my fault but still it should never happen. Animals have more common sense to not kill just to kill. I mean sure animals kill for food but not just to kill. Now a days it seems like the animals are smarter than the humans with not killing just to kill. I think if you kill anyone no matter who or what it is you should be in jail for life no matter what age you are. No death. Just in jail forever so you can think about for the rest of your life of what a horrible think you have done. If you killed a animal you still should be in jail for life if you killed it just to kill it. Every living thing has a right to this i think. Also if you say what if you killed a ant well that you can not help and you do not kill it just to kill it.

imtim83, not everyone thinks like you do. That's why we have laws and police to deal with idiocy like this in society.

btw, some animals do "kill just to kill". For exampke, some whales toss seals around for hours, slowing killing them for "fun". But no matter. As sentient, conscious-driven humans we know better.

Apparently once the mob of 10 or so teens and adults showed up at her doorstep the mother went outside to yell and fight and then let her kids get involved too. What kind of a parent would go outside to argue and fight with a mob and then let her children get involved? All she had to do was let the mob stand out there and yell and just call the police. If people were standing outside my door with sticks and boards with nails, I sure as hell wouldn't go out to yell at them.
