It keeps on asking me for my CD Key.

I put it in and everytime I restart the program it asks me for a CD KEY !!!

yeah, it asks for my cd key everytime too.
and sometimes it even has the audacity to tell me that it's already been registered

and when I'm done playing, it kills my internet access too :|
I have to reboot in order to get back online.
(yes, i checked IP's and everything is good, my other PC's on the router get online just fine).

I deleted Steam a long time ago...

While I had it though, I entered my CD key from counterstrike that I got with my 8500. It accepted it, but I never did get to play anything because of its lockups and stupid never ending updates.

Anyway, I got an automated email a little later that said the "Half-Life Platinum Pack CD Key" that I had entered was invalid. heh
Delete.

The cd key thing is a bug, dunno what valve is doing about it now.

Anyway, steam works perfectly fine for me. One of the guys in my TFC clan got hit by the cd-key bug though

Mine works fine, the only time I had problems with it is when steam was just released as final, mind you... everyone had problems then.

Edit: Try and get your problem fixed by searching or asking in the steam forums.
