WTF is wrong with people?

I just finished a Criminal Law Final, and I was on the Interstate headed back home. I'm just minding my own business when suddenly the car in front of me hits their windshield cleaning mechanism. As everyone knows, when on the Interstate this pelts your windshield with water and crap. I cleaned my windshield off (just using the wiper option), and continued on my merry way. Suddenly, this bitch slams on her breaks almost hard enough to lock them up. Thinking she is nutty, I merge over to the right -- yet she gets over as well to stay in front of me. 5 seconds later, she hits me with her windshield fluid again. Again I try to get over and she slams on her brakes. WTF?

So, I call the cops on my cellphone and the dispatcher said there's not really anything he can do. His words: "spraying someone with water on the Interstate is not a crime." I asked him what about her trying to cut me off and not letting me get away. He said "we can put out a BOLO if you like, but they won't find her." Thanks, HPD.

She squirted me with water over 4 times, and she slammed on her brakes at least half-a-dozen times. Does anyone thing it was an overreaction to call the police? I was behind this freakshow for 2 miles before she started freaking out. I was never within more than 2-3 car-lengths either.

you should have been more vague, just told them "road rage" , " i am afraid for my life" , stuff like that instead of "this little girl sprayed me with water"

She must've misinterpreted the drawing-finger-across-throat gesture you originally gave to her, and thought you were the crazy one.

Nope because it wasn't. If it was, why would you keep matching my every move instead of pulling over to fix your windshield? Additionally, why would you keep slamming your brakes constantly? Bees in your hair? C'mon. Let's deal with what is likely here.

It may not be too late - searched the Missed Connections section on Craigslist.

Apparently you did something that pissed her off, but we weren't there so we wouldn't know what that was. :)

That's what I think as well. The only problem was that I was several car lengths behind her and she was just RIDING the bumper of the SUV in front of her. I'm not sure what her problem was, but I did not want her to cause a wreck. That was my concern.

Agreed. I've had people do this to me. Usually it's idiots who do 60 mph in the fast lane on a 65 mph road. I just let them use all their fluid until they have none left. One time I did this, passed them, and threw the remainder of my hamburger at their windshield. They hit their wipers but it just smeared the ketchup, mayo, and pickles all over the place. Too bad they used all their fluid on me trying to be an ass.

Congrats for keeping your temper & not running her off the road ... bottom line is that if she keeps doing stuff like that to people she'll be taught a harsh lesson by somone a lot crazier then she is soon enough.

What is offending about windshield washer fluid splashing on one's car?
