The girl, who appeared to have suffered the most extreme abuse, was chained to the floor to prevent her from getting any food, they said.
"It seems that the little girl was the major target of this abuse," Miller continued, adding that she looked "like a concentration camp victim."
The girl was in the hospital for about five days, he said, and seemed "traumatized."

I'm glad these two bitches were caught and the children were found alive. The harshest of penalties should be exerted on these two fat fucks!

There's always fucked up people around. No need to generalize them with everyone else on the planet.
This.

Though you can simply take a look at our species' long history of diverse and innovative methods of torturing and murdering each other. Bloodlust is nothing new for us, and it's really not as rare as you'd like to think.

The human brain, with all of its complexity, is not somehow immune to the laws of nature or probability. As with any machine or system, a seemingly minor defect can alter the performance. A physically under-developed frontal lobe, faulty wiring (neurons), or trauma from injury or chemical abuse; almost anything is possible when there are billions of opportunities to produce outliers.

In fact I would think the odds for malfunction are even higher, due to our fragile mental psyche. A CAT-scan probably won't show a physical reason that a girl with an absent father has a greater probability of taking sexual risks, or seeking out/staying in an abusive relationship. Or why physical, visual, or emotional trauma, particularly during certain impressionable ages, can lead to the victim inflicting the same on someone else later in life.

Abnormalities can cause something as benign as being overly superstitious, or as dangerous as a complete absence of empathy.

Don't get me wrong, I dont excuse this type of behavior. I just know that the odds are too high that it will happen. A quick culling of the offender would not be an issue.

So not only do we have an ever expanding population increasing the chances of almost any behavior on the spectrum of possibilities, and synthetic chemicals that our brains have no defense against, but also instantaneous communication. The advent of the internet means I can learn about a man in Florida taking drugs and eating a homeless man's face. Or a mass knife attack in rural China. Not too long ago, if it didnt happen in your town or village, it never happened in your world.

I have obviously had too much Crown and will now return to my usual sophmoric humor in my ATOT responses.
