I would agree, but you have to define "cooperate". My guess is that they would turn over any info they had if asked for it, but I doubt they would initiate contact with the police unless their is some legislation that requires them to report it.

The point of pointing out that we can buy ant poison but not dog poison is that society at large buts dogs and other mammals on a different plane than ants and other insects and accords them some of the same emotional respect that we treat each other with. So by your logic anything that ant poison CAN kill should be treated with the same emotional disregard we treat ants with.
