WTF IS WRONG WITH MY PRINTER????????

I formatted my computer the other day and everything turned out fine installed latest drivers for most of my hardware everything is running great no conflicts. Install my PRINTER AND I CANT GET IT TO PRINT. It was working before i did anything to my computer. Everytime i try to print something light flashes and thats it. The printer does take the paper and ink cartridge is full...WTF. Its a HP612c and im using an

brought to my cousins to try it there on his P3500 and still same exact thing printer light flashes and thats it. Ran a cable from printer to scanner to computer and scanner worked fine. And tryed direct and no go.

Any Help Would Be Greatly Appreciated!
 
Don't know if this is your problem, but I had a similar problem with my NEC printer after a windows install. I fixed the problem by changing my parallel port to EPP in the motherboard BIOS. I have no explanation for why it worked, but it did. Good luck.
 
Go in Safe Mode and check to see if the printer is installed multiple times.
then go into the bIOS and check to see what the parallel printer port is set to: Normal, EPP, ECP, ECP+EPP.
Try to use ECP alone at first.
Make sure your cables are screwed in and grounded. You might try unplugging the power to the printer and wait several minutes.
Also go into printer properties and make sure the printer is checked as the default printer.
Make sure the LPT1 was re installed after the format, check for it in the device manager.
 
Yeah, what BlueZebra said! Also, go into the printer settings, on my Epson, you can also set it to print to a certain port there as well.
 
Guys Thanxs for the help. Did everything yu guys said and even went to the help file 😱 and tryed out everything they had to say... Still nothing. Gonna try drivers at HP i just download in case the ones i installed are screwed or corrupt... BBL with results.
 
Ok tryed another cable and drivers right off Hp site. All i get is a "Error writing to LPT1" This sucks! I cant believe i cant get a printer to work. Im ready to toss this POS out the window... anything i might have overlooked before i do????? THANXS
 

Maybe the carriage isn't parking right, or cartridges not making good contact, try new ones.
Have you tried pushing both buttons simultaneously repeatedly?
 
Problem Fixed It was one of the ink carts. One was full the other was empty...unbelievable. Yu would think that a message would prompt yu of a low ink level. Also just having color ink full and it still would not work, black was also needed for it to print. Talked to support from Hp and they said that they were having probs with the black ink carts. Didnt even have to pay for the ink they said they would. Man glad thats over with...🙂
