She's always acting like a kid. I want this, i want that. And when she gets it, she forgets about it. First she wanted my old PC, when i gave it to her, she never used it. Then she bugged me for a month to get her typing tutor software, same story. Now she's bugging the hell out of me to hook her PC up to my cable modem so that she can have internet on it. I asked her why she needs it so bad and she said "Because all my friends have it." And i know for a fact that she'll never use it! It's a ton of work and money and i know it's going to waste. Hell, she's been to computer school, and had a PC for 3 years. Guess what, she doesn't even know how to save a text file she just typed up.

As for your mom....maybe she just hates you and wants to make you work.
 
Be a little humble and try to impart some of your infinite knowledge to your mother. It does not take much to please one's mother.

She brought you to life, she endured all the pain during labor and all the other things she did for you when you're small .. but now, you cant even smile to her when ask you for some software and questions about it.

I think she's just trying to bond with you thru computers... maybe she feels as if she can't talk to you anymore???

 
my parents are not very good on computers so I have to set up faily simple things like e-mail, word processing, printer, etc. It can be a annoying at times.

But, I feel proud that I am able to help them

A ton of money? An NIC and a patch cable shouldn't cost you more than $25. If you care about the money so much have her pay for it.
 
dude, if she's willing to pay for the router, cables and nic, it shouldn't take more than 10 mins. to share internet connection.
