I have been able to stomach the normal retardiness of BF2 (wrong color tags...crappy hit boxes...spawn camping, base raping...the list goes on and on)

But the one thing that is really starting to piss me off is the random server reboots or crashes that I have started noticing in the past couple of weeks...

It seems like no matter what server I go on now adays...I cannot play more than 30 minutes without the wonderful "Problems connecting to the server " and then my favorite "Your connection to the server has been lost".

Only to log back into the server to see it empty and find out it either rebooted or crashed.

I have read that this is because of patch 1.3 but I have only noticed it in the past couple of weeks...so what gives ? When is the next patch out...cause this is bringing the game to a screeching halt if you ask me...

yeah it seems to be patch 1.3

I only noticed that yesterday when I joined a server and on that screen where it loads map and shows server logo and some details it said something like 1.3 = RANDOM SERVER CRASHES JUST REJOIN
or something to that effect

Yeah it's because of the patch, like lozina said some servers have that warning message.

Despite its problems, actually like it more than CS: S since in that I can't go a round without a bunch of 14 year olds acting like morons and people whining about hacking. Ugh.

i played for 3 or 4 hours last night with no problems, might be your connection or maybe your machine/router/modem/etc. i do hate the red/blue tag bug tho, supposedly it's fixed in the 1.4 beta (one of the devels or whatever is offering a free copy of AF if anyone can screen shot it legit happening).

regardless of the problems I still love playing this game. Sure its annoying, but man does this game look and feel nice. Having your buddies in your squad is also great. I hope 1.4 is out soon, they've been testing it for a while now.

More of the same useless drivel by pontifex. Do you even play the game? I never experienced these issues till the 1.3 patch where they must've broken something in the patch. I never experienced the horrendous issues you always claim... it always played and was FUN, thats what matters (well I will admit its one of the most frustrating games cause I get pwned by just about all armor and aircraft, but I like infantry still). Dont post in game threads that you know nothing about.

I've see one server have a lot of problems lately, the Sharqi Insomnia 24/7 was constantly crashing last week. But I haven't seen that with the other servers I play on. The BF2:SF servers seem especially stable to me.

yea the crash bug sucks. i hate playing and getting into a great infantry battle then the server crashes. they better get 1.4 out soon

I had the craziest thing happen the other night...

don't know if it is a hack or a major bug...but there was a constant stream of re-supplies and vehicle drops coming down from the sky...

this was on a ranked server...

I wish I would have gotten a screen shot of it.

I think it was a hack because it was placed right on our runway...kind of funny no jets could take off or refuel...

It was just so funny to see 10 or so crates falling at the same time that 10 or so buggies were falling from the sky....

didn't they say the red/blue tag name was fixed for 1.3?

Regarding the server crashes, I've been noticing that the times that I do get crashes it's usually when I play a map on either Euro forces or Armored Fury. I rarely if ever get crashes on the original maps... is that just coincidence or is someone else noticing this too?

I guess I can't really compare BF2 regular to EF or AF since I only own BF2 (and SP)... but of all the times I've played BF2 since the 1.3 patch there's been maybe a handful of times that I've had the crash thing happen.

Ever since I upgraded to a new mobo and gfx card i've been having this issue. I get random server disconnects and its really starting to piss me off.
All I gotta say is 1.4 better fvcken fix this and all the other annoyances.

Is this red nametag something that a lot of people are experiencing? I've been playing quite a bit since the game first came out and I don't think I've ever seen the bug.

I don't believe I've ever experienced the red nametag bug.

But gd that crashing is happening too often lately. Last night I go to play, load a game, I click Join Game and it simply quits out to desktop. Load SF again, find a different server, Join the game. That round ends shortly after joining so I start the next round. I spawn right next to a tank (finally I can be a vehicle whore), jump in, dont run over any teammates for once, and cap a point. Shoot down this annoying ass chopper thats loaded with 3 or 4 people. Take down another guy or two and am set up in a good spot to catch enemies (with such a good round start I'm thinking I might actually get a lot of points and rank up). Soon as I get in a spot to defend with the tank... "There is a problem with your connection" I lose connection to the server then and quit the whole game in disgust.


I guess I'll give it another go tonight. Bah, I'm never gonna rank up!
