WTF is up with this?

happened to me in unreal 2 and tournt 2003

are you overclocking you video card? cause that was my issue

Instant game- happens in both internet and regular games. Sometimes occurs, sometimes doesnt.
Latest patch, video card drivers, not overclocked, windows xp sp1 with all updates, motherboard drivers up to date, bios up to date.

I hate that stupid "speed hack detected" crap that happens on some servers. It just randomly gives you that message and doesnt let you move for 10 seconds = death. If it happens in mid air, you will be stuck in mid air for 10 seconds also.. heh.

I think it's lag related since it usually happens when the server starts to get crowded or sluggish.

Latest patch addressed that.

Rolling back didn't do anything. Turning off fast writes didn't do anything. Any other ideas?
Try VPU Recover off ? (or on if it's already off)

Is this a legit version of the game ? 😉

ATI drivers REALLY suck. That might be your problem. My system was purring like a kitten until I installed the patch.

It's not the ATI drivers I think it's the latest patch, I reinstalled UT2K4 today after a reinstall of Windows, downloaded the patch (which I've never used before), installed it and now I'm getting the same problem.

I have an nVidia FX5900 so it's not ATI, latest official drivers on XP SP1 and yes it is an official copy of the game 🙂

what video card do you have? my radeon 8500 has a few problems. also try running UT2k4 in openGL instead of D3D (running in opengl fixed my ut2k4 trouble)
